Try this, using the Panasonic remote, wait until the notice about your lamp goes AWAY (it wont work with the message still up). Hold the volume down on your tv while holding the split/play button on the remote. You will get a notice about 4-5 seconds later that it was reset.
There are a few other threads on this board with the same issue, some say green spots, some say red spots, in my case it was blue/purple spots, but the solution is the same for all of them. Contact Panasonic and tell them that you read online that they are offering a warranty repair for this known "fuzzy spots" issue. They will send out a local repairman who will perform an EEPROM update to one of the computer chips inside of your TV, and viola good as new. That is what others on this site suggested to me, and I did it and got all repairs covered under warranty by Panasonic even though my TV is 2+ out of the warranty period. Good luck!
Intermittent loss of picture is most often brought on by an intermittent lamp or ballast board. When you lose the image, look at the rear of the TV for light coming through the ventilation vents. If you don't see any light, its likely the lamp or ballast. If your lamp has more the 3000 hours on it, replace it regardless of whether its the only defective component. It will fail just when something good is on TV!
I need help resetting the lamp timer. Is there a way to reset the timer w/o the remote? We bought this tv as a floor model 4 yrs ago and they didn't have the actual remote that came with it, so they gave us another remote that works. We replaced the lamp but we keep getting the message that the lamp needs to be replaced and the timer reset. Plus the red lamp indicator is still on. We even used a friend's remote (he has the exact same tv) and it still will not reset the timer.
