1 Answer

I can't remember my password the question is right, my answer should be right , but No!

I need to get my adminastrator, me back and no guest. No one uses my computer but me.
And I'm afraid I'm going to loose all my 4 year old and 5 month Grandchildrens pictures. Especially, when your like me and have no idea what I did to get into this mess in the first place.
Thank you,
Jan Oliverson

How do i change my password when im on as a guest windows vista

Hi
Sorry to be negative but the guest account cannot change the computer settings, only someone with administrator rights and an administrator account username and password can make such a change.
Cheers

How do I reset the password on the windows 7 home page

Windows has a built-in security system that requires a user to type in a password to get to his personal account.
Only an "Administrator" account holder can make software changes to the computer.
All other users, including Guest users, need the permission of an Administrator to make any system changes.
However, if you have a guest account and need to access the Administrator account to make changes, you can do so via the Command Prompt feature.
Log in to your Guest account in Windows.
Go to "Start" > "Search" and type in "windows/system32/cmd.exe" to find the Command Prompt feature.
When the file appears on the search menu, drag it to your desktop.
Leave the search window open.

Right-click the cmd.exe file on your desktop and choose "Rename."
Type "sethc.exe" for the new name and click on an empty area next to the file name to save the new name.
Right-click on the "sethc.exe" file and click on "Copy."
Go back to the open "windows/system32" folder and right-click anywhere in the folder.
Select "Paste" to put the "sethc.exe" file inside.
Choose "Yes" when asked if you want to overwrite the current file.
Go to "Start" > "Log Off." It will bring you back to the User Account menu.
Press the "Shift" key 5 times in a row.
The Command Prompt will open.
Type "net user administrator [password]" and insert a new password in the [password] section.
Press "Enter" to set your new password.
It will bring you back to the User Accounts menu.
Click on the Administrator User Account and type the password you just set to log in to the account.

How to login xp after deleting a administrator accounts

Try logging in as Guest,or guest,no password.
Then go to Control Panel-User Accounts-New User and re-establish an Administrator User and account settings for it.
Make whatever User accounts you'll need, and then delete the guest account. It's a security hole.
If this helps, please rate my post.
Thanks
Bob
PS If you need anything else,or have a question about this problem, post back and ZI'll help you out.

Someone has went n and changed my adminastrative password

You need to have atleast another Administrative Account on your Machine in order to change password of an Administrator.
Without that , then you may have to format & reinstall your OS, and specify new Admin account & keep it damn hard for safety purpose ;)

Lost password

Can be done easily,

But Please Remember, Do not Perform these steps on any computer that does not belong to you.
I would not be responsible if you perform any unethical practices using this tehnique.
I am giving these steps thinking that you lost the password of your own computer on which you have rights to perform any operations.

Download this ISO file of "ophcrack XP LiveCD"
The size of this file is 452.4 MB.

Here's the link,
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/ophcrack/ophcrack-xp-livecd-2.1.0.iso

After downloading burn this image on a CD using any disc burning software..

Now, on your computer, set your CD Drive as First Bootable drive by going into BIOS settings.
Make sure that the disc is inside the cd drive.
On the first screen, simply press the Enter key to load the OS in memory and after loading it will auto launch the ophcrack window that will show all accounts that exists in the Windows XP partition including the guest account (even if it was disable as you said).
On this window, select the Administrator account of Win XP and click "Launch" in the toolbar.
Now, it may take some time depending on the complexity of the password.
Please remember, it fail to crack very strong passwords. But the probability of success is much higher since its the best software to recover windows passwords.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

XP Admin password

You can boot into safe mode, log in as administrator, remove the password from the affected account and reboot.

If that fails, I have a CD that I use very effectively. Contact me at info@antiochpc.com and I will be able to get it to you.

Forgot my password

If you are WinXP user indeed you must re-remember the password anyway. It would be the best solution.
Try to remember.if not leave pass some days and try again.Otherwise boot from cdrom with win cd in and setup a fresh win installation to a new directory i.e C:\WINnew.
