Hello

what is the problem? High temperatures are caused by dried out thermal paste between the cpu and the heatsink. Or poor or too small heatsink.

You will void the warranty of the video card if you change its heatsink, make sure the computer case has good air flow instead.

You can freely change the heatsink on the CPU, I have AMD 9650 (same, quad core) My temperature is around 30, because I have a huge heatsink and fan on top of it.

Personally I don't like sites that try to install drivers for you. sometimes they do all right but , sometimes they may install generic updates that don't work or make matters worse. A prime example, is if you try to update a driver for a graphics card. Your best bet for driver updates is to get them from the manufacturer of the software.

This is Gigabytes link for downloads. There are a couple of different options depending on your revision.
You also have AMD chipsets and, I'm guessing, an ATI/AMD graphics card. I'm not familiar with "darksider so if you can give me the model number of your card I can help you further or, if you know how to enter info definately get your card updtaes through here:

Upgraded power supply, upgraded to AMD 965 Quad core, Mother board stops at error C5, monitor blank during this. C5 error says reset video controller. HOW?

try this: 1. turn off the computer 2. disconnect the VGA connector (the cable from the monitor) 3. remove the video card from the motherboard 4. the motherboard has the on board video controller, connect your VGA monitor to that slot. 5. turn on the computer, I hope by now your monitor is ok ;-)

Motherboard A8V-E SE core Temperature at 58C is that normal?

Hi

AMD's CPU temperature's range from 10-85 degrees, the normal is around 48-60 degrees. So your within the normal. Sometimes depending on what your doing, the chip will run up to 70 or so, that's also normal, but you want to make sure that it doesn't stay at 70 for long. It will shorten the life of the CPU.

Thanks for asking on FixYa
