Your exit hose behind the machine has to go over a certain height before it goes into your wall standpipe or sink. The height is marfked behind your machine, approx 3 feet above ground level. The hose should put about 3 or 4 inches into the standpipe, & not fitted airtight. Post back later if the code stil comes up...........

Hotpoint ultima washing machine wma74 drum not turning

If the machine wasn't excessively noisy before and when you select spin only you can't hear the motor running its likely to be the carbon brushes in the motor worn down till they no longer contact stick a new set in if the carbon length sticking out the brass holder is less than around half an inch long

Machine does not clean clothes the machine seems to work ok but the washing feels stiff and there is sedment on the washing the machine is a hotpoint ultima 18 months old.

Try cleaning out the dirty water pipe. Mine was completely blocked up with scale and soap powder. We used a coat hanger and went from the out side as well. The water now pumps out completely without leaving any left under the drum

WF860 drum filling with water

Normally I would think that the problem is with the drain system (faulty pump or clogged lines), but you told me that also "When the washing machine is not bein.g used the drum slowly starts to fill with water!!" therefor I think it can be a dafective inlet valve or a faulty control assembly.
In either case, you will need a technician to fix this.

Error code on display panel

F-12 is a drain problem.

Check if the drain hose is free, if cycle stops and gives you f12 without draining the water, there is a problem with the drain system.

The Hotpoint should have a removable paner at the back on the lower side. The panel gives access to the pump. If cleaning the drain hose does not solve the problem, the pump must be removed and cleaned or replaced. The repair should be done by a technician.

the pump is blocked... at the bottom back there is a plastic cover, remove this and the pump is located on the back right hand side.

tilt washer far forward, place a bucket under to catch water and remove pipes.

once cleared, test again, if still no joy then you just need a new pump, but this part is a work horse so i would assume it is blocked with something like a baby wipe or babies sock (usual suspects)

Click on your model number (below FIXYA) on this website, & search. You will get a shortlist; click on your model, below the page u will get Manual/Guides. Click on the blue, you have your manual on line. You might find the mysterious codes there.
And dont forget to rate me on this great site.
Possible your thin hose going down from the pressure switch to the pump area is off or blocked; this hose should be blown into from the top, or try to unblock & refit carefully from below the pressure switch

Soap dispenser

Some softeners are too thick, you could dilute this with water before you add to the machine. Note: Your tube to the softener drawer could be loose or something, you could check this by taking the top of the machine off to examine. Actually simple.
