You might set the resolution to higher which your monitor doesn't support. Well do follow this, remove the cable and reconnect, reboot your PC. It's also important to let me know the operating system, (sometimes pirated XP Service Pack3 creates this problem). Good luck..

Get rid of "Out Of Range" message on e218c1 monitor.

The device driving the monitor is exceeding the horizontal and vertical frequencies that the monitor can display .....thus the "out of range". The specs for this state that the Horizontal Freq. is 80Khz and the Vertical Rate is 75hz. If you are driving this monitor from a computer running Windows, reboot the PC and use the F8 key to put it in SAFE mode. This will cause the video driver to default to a rate that the monitor can handle. Then go into the screen resolution settings and reset them. The native resolution of the monitor is 1680x1050 at 60 Hz. Exceed that and you'll get the "out of range"

You need to set your PC video resolution to the native resolution of this monitor: 1280x1024260Hz. I f you still get the message with correct setting then you may have logic problem, also try to use factory reset mode.

Trying to get rid of flickering on screen. now an

Flickering is caused by the incorrect refresh rate being used by your graphics card, go into the graphics settings by right clicking your desktop and choose the correct resolution and refresh rate dependant on the screen size and options. TRYING ALL THE OPTIONS DOES NOT CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR PC OR MONITOR. Just pick the setup that suits you.

My acer al1716 has been showing 2 horizontal lines from the middle of the screen to the top after changing the video card to a nvidia geforce9400 GT. how can i get rid of these lines?

It sounds like a connection problem, if i understand this right. So, you either need a new monitor, but check your input connection to the computer, see if it's in all the way. And your gonna need a new monitor range from 200-400 for the 20" range. Good luck!!!

Monitor displays Msg. frequency out of range, screen is black

Start your computer and press the F8 when the manufacturer's logo screen is showing. This will bring you to the Windows startup menu. Pick "start in VGA mode" and windows will start up with video settings you monitor can handle. Then you can change your video settings so Windows will start normally with your monitor.

Generic Answer:

With most models of these monitors, hold in the menu key for more than 10 seconds.

If the above does not work, call the manufacture tech support. The monitor may need service.
