Your Toshiba Satellite Pro might be using a specified IP address. Try to set it to obtain an IP automatically. Depending on the Windows OS, whether it is XP, Vista or Windows 7, go to your Control Panel then Network connections or Network Sharing Center and double click on the Local Area Network connection (if your are using wired) or Wireless Connection. Look for the TCP/IP protocol and make sure it is enabled as "Obtain IP address Automatically" and "Obtain DNS addresses automatically". Then click OK to save settings.

Should you need further assistance, please let me know. Thank you for using FixYa.

NO SOUND ON MY TOSHIBA Satellite U405

It is probably a driver issue. First check the device manager, from the Control Panel. A red triangle with an X or a yellow triangle with an exclamation point indicate that the issue is with the driver.

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp?nav=Download will let you search for your model and download the XP sound driver.

The specific driver may be: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2043975&rpn=PSU41U&modelFilter=&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768667# (using the Satellite Pro U400-S1001V above)

I hope this helps.

This is a missing driver issue
If your using Win. XP or Vista o/s
Download a free program called Drivermax and follow its directions, it can search all of your systems hardware and allow you to choose to download a missing driver or update those existing.
Note: I am not a spokesperson for Drivermax, it is just a program that I have had success with in the past.
Good luck...
