Download window does not stay open, I can not download

When trying to download, all I get is a split second of an outline of the download window. I am unable to download. Someone told me I might have clicked on a box that has the box disappear. How can I reverse this without having to keep trying to click on the window??

I am using firefox. But the firefox download box shows. This is when I want to download something from the internet. Sometimes firefox will download, and other times the other download window would open. I do remember clicking on a option months ago, and could not change it. That is when the problems started.

The problem is the window only shows a partial outline in a split second, and I can't try a larger download, cause the window doesn't stay open for me to click on the option to download, save, etc. I know it takes forever to download, that is not the problem. I am unable to download.

Sorry a lot of this is new to me.

What browser are you using ie or firefox ... reset your web settings in internet options ... you could also try lowering your security settings ... or try a larger download like a hp driver file and look at the settings as it downloads ... dosnt matter how fast your internet is a large download like 32mb is going to take at least a few minutes...

To work around this issue, reduce the complexity of your PostScript print job. For example, set the TrueType Font Download option to Automatic, Outline, or Bitmap as follows:
  1. In Control Panel, open the Printers (or Printers and Faxes) folder.
  2. Right-click your PostScript printer, and then click Properties.
  3. Click Printing Preferences, click Layout, and then click Advanced.
  4. Double-click PostScript Options, and then click TrueType Font Download Option.
  5. In the True Type Font Download Option box, click Automatic. If Automatic is already selected, click Outline or Bitmap.
  6. Close the Printer Properties dialog box, and then close Control Panel.
hope this helps you.. please vote.. thanks

I cannot activate my windows 2007 because need to find the serial number for product key.

First downloading and/or copying software from the internet is not following the software licensing agreement as outlined in the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA). If the software was downloaded from a website please post back and let me know the URL. Under NO circumstances should you try to download an ISO image for software from a P2P file sharing site, or use a second-hand burned copy of Office 2007. Research has shown that about half of the software copies available on P2P download sites are infected with root kits, spyware, Trojans, and who knows what else. Curious is your system infected right now? This may be something which may need verfied.

Problem downloading files up to 100 mb

Well, here's a bit complicated, yet effective method that just might reduce your downloading headaches... Let's say you're connect to the Internet using a 28.8K modem and that your Internet service provider lets you telnet to their server. Of course, your provider's server can download files much faster, so the idea here is to download the file to their server at high speed, split it, and retrieve parts at the highest speed you can to your provider's server. Generally speaking, this method not only is a faster way to download files, but it is also a more reliable method since you'll be downloading many smaller files rather than one large file.
First, find out the FTP address of the large (larger than 16M for example) file that you want to download. For example:
Telnet to your Internet service provider's server.
From within the telnet session, download your file to your provider's server. Following is a "screen shout" of a sample file transfer on an UNIX compatible server. Blue/bold text represents your input.
ftp> open
Connected to
220 ftp x.cpm FTP Service (Version 2.0).
User ( anonymous
331 Anonymous access allowed, send identity as
Password: [email protected]
ftp> binary
200 Type set to I.
ftp> get
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for
226 Transfer complete.
ftp> quit
221 Thank you for using! Once the file is download to the server, the next step is to divide the file into smaller pieces so that you will not waste too much time downloading should your Internet dial-up connection go down.
split -b 2000b
You're almost there! Now simply log off from your telnet session and start downloading (from your provider's server to your computer) smaller files (not the which the above split command (on most UNIX compatible machines) created.
Once you have all the files, simply merge them and you got a good copy of the original If you're using DOS or Windows, you can merge files using the following command (assuming that (16000 byte file) was divided into 8 2000 byte files named xaa to xah):
copy /b xaa xab xac xad xae xaf xag xah
Don't forget to log back into your Internet service provider's computers and delete temporary files ( and xaa..xah) once you've made sure that your downloaded copy is in good condition. Doesn't sound like the above steps could make your downloads faster or more reliable? Well, in most cases it does; specially if the file you're downloading is rather large. The reason why this method could possibly be faster is because you can download files from your provider's computer to your computer faster than from most remote sites. Of course, the reason for reliability is that downloading many smaller files makes it possible to resume a download without wasting as much time as resuming a larger file download would.
You can use FRESH DOWNLOAD.Fresh Download is an easy-to-use and very fast download manager software that turbo charges downloading files from the Internet, such as your favorite freeware/shareware, mp3 files, movie files, picture collections, etc. Unlike any other similar utilities, this software is 100% free, no charges, no banners in the software (whichsteal your bandwidth), no spyware.

Manual and Bios for Abit AB9 Pro Motherboard

Hello seany187,

What I'm doing since your system doesn't want to download from Abit, is creating a zip file with all the drives, manuals, utilities and bios updates for both XP, XP64, Vista, and Vista 64, since I don't what OS your on, and you will be able to download them from this private site HERE. And because the files are so large, I split them into, I'll post the second one as in a comment as soon as it's completely up on the site.. You shouldn't have any problems with these downloads, unless you have your IE settings to high.

Good Luck & don't forget to leave a rating based on my Solution.

Thanks Mark

Stay tuned for the second file!
