Like the person above said, usually you just respond to the texts with "STOP" or "OFF" or "CANCEL"

Y'know, words like that. If that doesn't work, it might be worth asking your provider to block the number entirely.

Hey carolken.

whats your service provider?

and what particular event/account (unwanted txt msg) you are recieving?

usually there is a default for this....

lets say as an EXAMPLE : JambaTones

" JambaTones OFF "

" JambaTones STOP "

" JambaTones NO "

its just usually like this.. type this and send to the number that texted you.

hope this helps. thanks for using fixya

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I'm not recieving any text messages through my phone, even though I know they've been sent.

check with your provider to make sure that it is enabled on your service plan. Here we have to pay to receive txt msgs and you have the option to turn them off to prevent spam and unwanted txt msgs being sent to your phone.

Please do not text messege me. I have to pay

I only received a text message when I was given the option to bypass those funny squiggly letters/numbers we sometimes see. My message was a confirmation that I was supposed to enter to finalize my registration with an Internet group. I did not receive any more after that.

If this describes what happened to you, you should not be getting more text messages. I hope this helps.

Thank you for reaching out to FixYa.

Unwanted text messages

Your provider should be able to block text messages from a single sender. If this doesnt work have them try changing your MSID or IMSI number and reprogramming your phone. You'll have to call them from another number to complete this request.

How to block unwanted Text messages?

go into call settings then common settings then call reject. I have given my unwanted number a group name and then blocked that group! Hope it works. There is also a service security thing in messaging which lets you set up trusted and untrusted lists. I am trying this also.
