though this process did result in a semi reset, the underlying problem was not addressed and the system froze again as soon as I attempted to connect to my network.

Thank you Sam, this worked perfectly foy my problem. Problem description: all buttons on front panel would not respond, power button would not shut off printer. The display showed what I think is a post card. But nothing would work or print / could not see printer on network. Now I can set up the printer to my network and everyone can print to it. Thank you again. - Jim

You better get it to the repairman. It sounds like you have a short in your power supply.

Cant turn printer off none of the buttons work ink is low will this cause a problem cant fax or copy

Ink low issue or message should not cause the printer to freeze.

You can disconnect the power cord from back of the printer ( while printer is on ) and connect it back after 10 seconds. Turn on the printer.

It should work fine.

IMAC SCREEN FREEZES OR GOES BLACK.

same thing happens to me - most of the time it will just randomly freeze; occasionally i get an unresponsive black screen. this 24' aluminum imac usually has startup problems also - sometimes it will "gong" and nothing else; sometimes the apple logo will come up and then nothing else; sometimes it will load the logo and then spin for a few seconds and then freeze - the only option is to manually shut down. there is no rhyme or reason to it

When I plug in the printer, the screen lights up, the "on" button and the "cancel" buttons light momentarily but nothing happens. The screen stays lit and pushing the on-off does nothing. It will not...

Try this: first disconnect the power cord from the Printer, then disconnect the USB cable, then unplug the printer power cord from the wall. Wait 10 minutes and plug everything back in In Reverse Order. See if that does it. I had a similar problem with my PSC 1610v and that is what HP had me do and it worked for me.

Dell Dimension freezes at startup

Try disconnecting the data cable from the hard drive, then see if you can boot to the Resource CD. If you can, there is a good possibility the Hard Drive is bad.

If no difference, then try disconnecting everything but video, see if the system will boot past the Splash screen. SOmetimes periferal items cause issues
