Remove the side cover, bar, and chain. You should be able to observe the action of the brake at this point. Other than sawdust/dirt blocking the action, the brake band which encircles the clutch drum must not be bent or otherwise damaged. Try blowing the whole area clean with compressed air. Check the action of the drum, which should turn freely when the brake is off. Hope this helps!

Ryobi 10 in Mitre saw with laser, switch / motor wiring diagram?

capacitors are known as capacitors or condensers. Both do the same job of storing electrical energy and then releasing it when the current flows back . They are used to either start an electric motor or stop arcing on the brushes by absorbing the current flow as it stops over each commuter bar of the armature

Did it just damage the brake? You can remove the cover the brake is in and see if the saw is still seized.

Brake not releasing 14inch ryobisaw

First try cleaning it. Begin by removing the spark plug wire. Then remove the housing and inspect the chain break for broken chain brake parts such as the spring. If all appears intact clean away saw dust, sticks or other debris. Otherwise, the chain break may be simply wore out and need replacing.

Chain saw brake does not go off

Your switch is broken and needs to be replaced. You can do it yourself when you get the part from a Ryobi dealer.

Ryobi gas chainsaw- chainsaw brake is stuck on. How do I release

You just have to pull the lever back, like it was on the saw, until it clicks/unlocks. It may be hard to do, but thats what has to be done.

Ryobi pcn3335 chainsaw chainbrake will not release fully

1. Is there a Homelite/Ryobi dealer/authorized repair facility near you? If yes I'd try them they may repair it.
2. Any major chainsaw seller/repairer may be able to repair it... there will be a fee.

I own a few chain saws without chain brakes. I also own and use good PPE.

Ryobi pcn 4040 chain saw

I have the same model chainsaw with the same fault. The brake is not releasing when the brake handle is pulled right back. I can only run mine if the brake handle is pulled back to the main handle with a tyrap - defeats the object of the auto-brake completely. Design fault I reckon.
