SOURCE: RTH7400 thermostat installed-screen display unlit-used

w2 and y2 are used for 2stage applications

w2 = 2 stage heat
y2= 2 stage cool

If your system is a single stage system, look for the y1 and y2 terminals. If the thermostat does not have y1 and y2 then you may have the wrong thermostat. As always, please read the directions carefully. Thanks!

SOURCE: connect magnavox dvd to ge tv HELP!

You need to go get an RF modulator. They can be purchased at Radio Shack or a number of other electronic shoppes for a reasonable price.

The RF modulator connects to the coax cable connector and it has inputs for the RCA connectors.

SOURCE: Wiring Diagram for Ruud Heat Pump

Depends on t stat type  Different manufactures use different terminal designations for energizing a certain relay or such.  However orange mostly goes to the o/b term. on stat for energizing the rvs.vlv. out at the od. unit, and does not need to connect to th ahu. at all because of no electrical reason for it to do so.  on the other end of the spectrum Orange has been used for a common ive seen and in that case connects to common side of transformer and all else requiring a common 24 volt wire.

Spa just stopped threw circuit breaker replaced fuse still no power

I assume you mean you replaced the Circuit Breaker...?
Spa Breakers are typically "GFI " types... they will trip if they sense power going to ground. Please confirm this.
Is this a self contained unit with a plug in Cord? Please confirm this.
Did you install this unit yourself... including the electric?
If you installed this yourself, then kill power, and disconnect the power from the spa and see if breaker still trips.
without knowing the size and ampacity of the system, I cannot instruct you to safely troubleshoot.
Self contained units with a 20 amp conventional plug... would not know unless we get specific "year-Make-Model"

Cruise control not working

You need to post the make and model of your car.

Generally if the cruise control light is on, on the dash indicator then the problem is in the steering wheel electrical connection.

Then internal wiring connecting the steering wheel cruise control switch is connected to the dash by a special wire called a clock-spring ribbon. This is located under/behind the steering wheel. It is not a self service repair item and required a good deal of expertise to repair. Sorry, but you will most likely need to take it to a qualified mechanic. Because the steering wheel also contains an airbag, do not attempt to do this repair yourself!!!

Hot plug connector

if everthing else is hooked up properly and the battery connections are tight i would suspect a loose connection in either the plug or the receptacle. anytime an electrical connection heats up it usually means there is a loose connection or too many amps running through it than what its designed for. remember trolling motors should not be run out of the water for more than 30 seconds as they use the water to cool the output shaft at the prop. good trolling.

Is there anyway to hard wire my ignition in my 1989 camaro rs

Sure. Not sure what you mean by "hard wire", but if you don't like the ecu control over the timing and spark advance, you can simply revert to distributer that either has points or a self contained electronic ignition that uses a standard coil. One way to do that is to buy a distributer for a boat that uses the same engine. Marine applications don't use a separate ecu, so all you need is a marine distributer and an ignition coil. Cost about $275. I have done it many times when the whole ecu, harness, etc., is too much of a mess to work with.

If you are speaking of the ignition switch, that is also easy. You can just buy a universal ignition switch for $5 and run the basic power, ignition, starter, and accessory wires to that.

How to wire up an E40 ceramic lamp holder for use with compact flurescent (sic) or high intensity discharge lights? (GENERAL ELECTRICAL KNOWLDEGE) Lights are used in factory High & Low Bay lighting;...

If this is being used as a socket for a 120-volt lamp (such as a compact fluorescent with self-contained ballast or an incandescent lamp), you wire the black (hot) AC line conductor to the brass-colored screw and the white (neutral) conductor to the silver-colored screw. If the socket is equipped with pigtails instead of screws, use pressure connectors (wirenuts) to connect black to black, white to white.

If you are using HID lamps, you don't wire directly to the AC line. These lamps must be used in a fixture with the correct ballast transformer, capacitor and ignitor (for pulse-start lamps) for the lamp wattage. If you are replacing the socket in such a fixture, follow the wiring of the old one when installing the new socket.

When I bought the dryer 18 months ago it came with a 3 wire plug and the green ground was attached seperately (not part of the plug). We just moved and the house has a 4 plug setup. I bought a 4 wire plug...

Good day,
You wired it correctly. The original setup you had, used a 3 prong, and the white wire could serve as a ground, since all green wires and white wires connect to the same place on the circuit breaker panel.
Adding an additional green wire from the cabinet to a grounding location, such as a bare cold water pipe is just added safety.
There might be something wrong inside the dryer, but to be safe, you should have the outlet checked, to make sure the white(common wire) didn't lift off ground potential, and you have a true 230 volts from red to black, and 115 from both white to red, and white to black at the outlet.

Hi, I am installing a Lewmar ST40 electric winch,25 feet from the battery, what gauge of wire should I use, and what size of circuit breaker. Thanks, Andrew, on a cruise going south

Is there a rating plate showing voltage, amps, watts?
This information is required to know what gague wire is required to not over spend on cable. Otherwise, I would buy and install very good quality jumper cables. Cut off the clips and crimp on the right size connector studs. Use the new type self sticking tape to water proof between the cable jacket and studs. Use dialectric grease on the exposed metal studs to prevent corrosion. Use cable hangers to support the heavy cable from a damp bilge and vibration ware.

No power

Do you have the manual. I have the same model installed on my BMW 1100RT motorcycle and it requires two power hookups. One senses the ignition is turned on and the other is the power up from power source. If the ignition power wire isn't connected, the unit will not powerup. You can however, connect both of these power wires to bypass the ignition switch. This ignition switch is used so you don't kill your batter by accident. I'm sure that wouldn't be good on a boat. Good luck!

Power connection for L365 Fish finder

Fuses and Breakers
Attach the red or positive wire to a 5 amp circuit breaker. If the unit is connected directly to the boat’s battery, include a 2 amp in-line fuse. (In-line fuses are available at most marine supply stores.) The power cable includes a smaller "shield" wire. Connect this to a good ground.

compactff.gif
Extending the Power Cable
If you need to extend the power wiring by more than 10 feet, use a larger wire size. This will allow the wires to deliver the correct voltage in spite of the longer wire distance. For runs of 20 to 35 feet, use #14 AWG cable. If you extend the power wiring, be sure all electrical connections are solid and durable. Soldering is the best way to make these connections. Insulate all connections using heat-shrink tubing or electrical tape. You may also use crimp connectors or a terminal strip, but be sure to use good-quality marine-grade parts.
