I have a compaq presario v3000 (model
no. v3122TU). i reinstalled windows xp and had a rude shock when i
found my motherboard cd missing..... all my devices including sound,
video graphics and ethernet are not working and i need a solution
pretty fast...all the drivers. i looked on the company website but did not
find any support for this particular model. any help would be

You can download the LAN and device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the Windows drivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download the drivers: - www.compaq.com/country/cpq_support.html
If you've gone back from Vista to XP, you might have a little problem. Laptops going from Vista to XP usually work about 50% of the time (due to driver issues). Desktops, I'd say probably about 80% of the time. I have the web address for drivers for your computer, but it only shows they're for Vista. You can still try though. Click here. Hope this helps!
Post the laptop model no and make so I can send you all the detail. you can download and install it. change the harddisk with greater space there shouldn't be any challenge on it. But you can't upgraid your cpu with duo core cpu.
