I had my desktop on a power surge strip, but the last time the power went out, and came back on, my computer would not start. The small green light comes on, on the mother board, when pluged in, and the power going to the computer is what I am using on this older computer, to request help. How do I check to see what parts are affected, or what may be the solution?
Thank you for your time.
I have the exact same problem after a thuderstorm. Swapped power supplies and still the same problem.... No reaction from the system when hitting the powe switch in the fron pannel. Motherboard light (green) does light up with either power supply. Removed CMOS battery to see if board would reset and still nothing. Unplugged everything are re-plugged and still nothing.
Please help

I try the motherboard outside the case and different power supply . No power .
I does show a green lid on the motherboard
Hi ... if your ok with taking things apart then what you want to do is disconnect everything ... plug the mobo power back in then start up and see if you get any beeps ... next plug in the hardrive and see if you can boot ... if it will not boot with just the hardrive connected it could be a blown power supply ... its hard to test power supplies as they are designed only to turn on if there is somthing connected to them ... you can easily swap out the power supply ...
