I hear a loud sound when the washer is in the spin cycle - that sounds like I have loose change, or loose screws behind the tub, and they are getting ounced all around. Anyone else have this? Do I need to fix it and how do I fix it?

    Thanks, George

I also have the "loose change" sound when the machine starts to spin. I just took the whole basket out and can not find any coins, loose screws, etc. Has anybody solved this problem? My machine has also started leaking out the bottom after about 15 minutes into a wash cycle. Has anybody had this problem?

The tub oo this machine just sits on apost, weight of the tub only thing holding down, you will needa putty knife adn insert it about 3 inches in from either side t o "pop" the top hold down clips, the main lid assy will the tip back wards, next remove the outer tub cover (10 or so clips holding around the outside of outer tub.) after that the inner basket should lift right up and out. reaasmble teh same way.. be carefull the outside if the inner basket is extremely sharp from all those holes

If you hear change in your machine,Get it Out! I heard a clicking noise for couple of weeks while the washer drained. I realized too late that there was two coins in the drain pump. My wash room and kitchen flooded because the coins had broke one of the walls in the pump. The water had leaked out, under to the floor boards and under my hard wood floors. Damage in the thousands! The fix was extremely easy. Online manual - indentify part - online order - repaired in 10. Good Luck!

I have a wtw6600sw2 giving a f-51 code. I replaced rps sensor and harness and control board. Still giving me f-51.Also there is nothing between the tub, tub turns freely.

The F51 error code indicates that the control is not sensing proper motor movement through the signals from the RPS (rotor position sensor) circuit.
This can be caused by several different problems.
Make sure that you are not overloading the washer. Overloading can cause this problem.
A toy or foreign object could be under the washer that is interfering with motor rotation.

With the washer empty, spin the basket inside the washer tub to see if it spins relatively easily.
If not, you could an item caught between the spin basket and the tub.

You could have a wire harness problem causing signals to not be transmitted properly between the RPS and the machine control board.

A failed RPS sensor or a failed control board could also cause this problem.

Thanks for using FixYa!

Cabrio wtw6600sw2 f50 code.It spins freely.What now?

Any time you get a F-50 code on one of these, Whirlpool recomends you replace the control, wire harness, and RPS sensor if the tub bearing main shaft aren't binding.

Whirlpool Washer WTW6600SW2 very loud spin cycle

Bearings in the outer tub are shot. Unfortunately, you are going to have to change out the whole outer tub as the bearing and shaft spline are one piece. Parts are about $200. I just changed mine out a couple of days ago and is not that hard if you have some mechanical ability.

I have change stuck is washer making noise when washing. How do I get it out

If this is a Whirlpool Cabrio, it has two pumps. One is the drain pump and the other is a recirc pump. In most cases, loose change an other items end up in one of these pumps. The following link explains how to access and check the pump(s) on the washer for obstructions.

If you have something stuck in the wash tub, you will need to remove the washplate in the center of the wash tub. Follow these steps:

1. Lift the washer top panel by locating the retaining clips in the seam along the front (about two inches in from each side). Use a putty knife to push in while lifting on the top panel to release.

NOTE: Its a good idea to tape the lid shut to prevent it from flying open when you lift the washer top.

2. Remove the wash tub ring. This is the plastic ring around the perimeter of the top of the wash tub. There are a series of release tabs around the tub that you can pry with a screwdriver.

NOTE: The washplate will not come out with the tub ring in place.

3. With the tub ring removed, pop the center post cap off the washplate. Locate the center nut and remove. Hold the washplate with one hand as you loosen to keep it from turning.

4. Lift the washplate out of the tub.

With the wash plate removed, you should easily be able to access anything stuck in the spin basket.

If you have any questions, or if this is NOT a Cabrio, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.
