Connected my Kenwood Cd Receiver to my Mondeo using a Ford Adapter kit brought from Halfords. It connects fine, and the small red light flashes on the Cd Receiver, but when I put the faceplate on nothing happens. Only the eject button seems to work. Is there a safe mode or demonstration mode? Any other ideas?

if its anything like my 92 ranger you take the dash apart around the radio and the stereo should unscrew, in my ranger the new cd player went in without any extra harness as it was the same size as the stock, if not you can but harnesses to go where your old stereo did, to connect the speakers you can buy a ford wiring harness from walmart or any store with an audio department. these plug in to your vehicles wiring harness so you don't have to cut it out, after that you simply match colours from the wires of the new cd player to the wiring harness
Today i brought a 98 ford and the dealer replaced the cassette player with a Kenwood KDC-MP6036 from a trade in they had. It was fine for 30 min approx then music stopped and "PROTECT" was displayed and now nothing works ???? what can i do
