What's your problem?Pioneer PRO-530HD 53 in. Rear Projection Television flashing red standby light

This and a few other models like it have one real common issue:

they develop from age and heat bad solder connections all over the power board (rather large board).

My experience with them is the fix usually is remove rear cover and follow power cord to power board (a lot of plugs to mark) and remove that board----then solder every single connection on the board which by the way has some special fuses on it.

Have a Pioneer pro elite 730hdi. When you try to turn it on (main power, not standby), the tv cycles from the red (standby) light with the normal click to the green light, then one second later, it cycles...

Hello,

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Hoping this will help in solving the problem....

Thomson dti 6300 freeview box will not come on just shows constant red/orange light flashing all the time, tried leaving power off etc....anyone know?

What to do: if you have a solid amber light If the power light on the box will not change from solid Amber to solid Red then it is possible that a problem has occurred with the current in use software. Before attempting a fix, power the box off and on at the power socket and then wait at least 5 minutes for the solid RED lamp to appear.
If it still remains solid Amber and the box will not come out of standby to ON (Green light) then this can be corrected using the software revert procedure which is done using the box front panel buttons as follows:

1. Remove power to the unit by removing the power cable from the back of the box.

2. Wait 20 seconds and then restore the power cable while pressing the standby button repeatedly on the front panel of the box.

3. Release the standby button immediately when you see a lamp flash on the box's front display, and then immediately press the following front panel arrow buttons in this sequence:

- Menu
- OK

Note: you have to do this quickly and in sequence

4.The Orange light will flash and the STB will then reboot and should return with the previous version of software.

5. The box will now be running with the previous software version but it will automatically update with the latest version within approx 2 hours and you will be notified by message which will appear in the Message area within the Main Menu.

If you're still having problems please call 08444 159 159 and a member of the Technical Team will be happy to help.

Pioneer PRO-530HD

Its really hard to say if its a major problem or not. I think anytime a circuit part goes bad thats its a major problem, because these sets HAVE NO USER REPLACEABLE PARTS inside so you should call out a trained technician, as theres alot of High Voltage inside these sets and also this is not a place for an experimenter or a handi-person to be messing around in. Your problem if you are a tech and Know the HI voltage saftey issues is most likly in the standby or main power supply... Good Luck
