Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Neo mp3 players

A little while a go i notyiced that only one of my headphones was working. after testing them on other things i realised that it wasn't the headphones that were the problems, since one of my friends had dropped my mp3 player a little while before i wondered whether something had come loose and therefore wasn;t connecting properly (Sure enough i can hear somehing loose inside it). however, the jack on the player is small so has an adapter with it so that i can use other types of headphones and speakers. this adapter can also be used for the music player on my phone and as it turns out only one headphone works so now i can't work out how to find out which bit needs fixing or replacing. i don't really want to have to take the player apart if all i need is a new adapter.

I put the ear plugs in and nothing happens.. not

To get the basics out of the way, is the volume turned up and not muted at all... if it's turned up then try another pair of headphones that you know work in something else or test these headphones in something else...( cd player, radio etc.) use a pair that you know work to retest your mp3. plug them in, turn it on and play a song the gently wiggle the end plugged into the player back and forth. If you hear a crackling or snippets of song, then it's probably the jack inside the player....try these things and get back.
PS. post the make and model of your player, it helps with problem identification

The headphone jack is loose from the circuit board.

If its less than 1 year old, SanDisk will replace it.

Otherwise, you can take it to a electronics repair shop, or someone who knows how to solder.

Best of Luck.

Cannot hear music

The bad news is that your headphone jack is most likely shot. The soldered connections inside are most likely broken. This is not repairable generally, at least not for a cost that would be reasonable. Music will play through your computer because it can be read off your player through the USB connection. Use it as a data storage drive and buy a new one, or a used one. I've seen used T30s on Amazon for around $30 to $40.
