Question about Photography

1 Answer

I'm trying to test a Polaroid Autofocus 660 camera. Usually I can test polaroids with an empty film pack and the shutter and flash will work if the film pack has enough battery power left. The autofocus ones won't work that way. Just shows me a red light in the viewfinder. Any tips?

Try inserting a piece of carton in the film pack. The camera has a sensor that tells when the last shot is taken.

My Polaroid AutoFocus 660 burns all my pictures, why? (I have tried using new film, it's not the film)

Burns?? could it be that what your seeing is a "corona" (brown ,with white and orange ) if so I bet your film compartment is letting in light , this happens on vintage equipment because they used velour type material as seal on film door and other places and it drys out over time and allows light in

also is your shutter working properly ??(clik don't mean working) a mt camera with film door open shown toward light source shouldn't allow light thru , wouldn't be the first vintage shutter that ive ever heard of sticking

Either your camera is broken or those film packs you used have gone bad. I hope it's the later case which can be fixed by using a different film pack. Impossible Project makes new film packs for Polaroid 600 series so better use those than old expired Polaroid film packs.

I have a Polaroid OneStep and am not sure if my film battery is dead or my camera is broken. I haven't used the camera in about 6 months, and at that time it was mostly working fine. Sometimes nothing...

Polaroid has not manufactured film for 600 cameras in about 5 years now. The only current source is The Impossible Project, which gives 8 shots per pack, black and white images only, and they tend to fade rather quickly. You can find and order online by searching the name. The Polaroid versions available are no longer really usable because the batteries are drained, film has expired and chempaks have oxidized.

The battery packs in these are integrated into the film pack and not replaceable separately.

How do u turn the polaroid 600 0n or off?

on all the time- battery is in the film pack, and when you press the shutter it gets all the power from the film pack battery. If the camera doesn't work, it's possible that the battery is dead, even if you have film left. You'll need to try and get the film pack replaced, if the expiration date has not passed. If it has passed your just out of luck.  Since Polaroid made their last run of film forever this last summer,  this camera is probably going to be obsolete soon, so get your film  while you can.

whitehall-bo,
give it a try, the batteries come with the film,so if it was stored high & dry it's probably good. polaroid pack should still be around. they stopped making polaroid camera's and film.

Batteries

The battery is inside the film pack, the camera does not have internal batteries.

when you replace the film pack you also replace the battery.
