Partition Problem. Have you recently partitioned your Hard Disk? If yes, contact your System Vendor/Engineer and tell him to create larger and fewer partitions.

Ms windows XP prof service pack 2 does not pick up my whole 500 gig drive. Is there a setting that i can change for this to come right please? Regards Chris

Hi,
Go to your bios set up and check if your hardisk is being detected. If you are using a 500gb hardisk SATA, check the sata connection.
Just make sure that the power cable is properly connected to the HD and the drive is really working.
Tell us after you have done what we have recommended.
Thanks for using FixYa!

I got my motherboard changed in October and my computer won't boot up "disk boot failure 0" could I have the same problem again? I don't have a disk - dell dimension C521

The motherboard is not the problem.
Your hardisk is the problem.
See if your hardisk is detected during boot up procedure.
If it does... Run again your Windows XP CD installer and repair your operating system.
Having "Disk Boot Failure" error means the boot system of you operating system is corrupted.
If your hardisk is not detected... you better check if the power supply connector on your hardisk is secured and not loose..
If still not detected.. your hardisk crashed and need to be replace.

Did not see second sata harddisk

To know if your Hardisk is detected follow this steps:

In Windows XP

1. Open Control Panel
2. Go to Administrative Tools
3. Open Computer Management
4. Double Click Storage
5. Open Disk Management

All the list of Hardisk is here, your hardisk is not formatted that's why, so you have to proceed to format just right click that unformatted hardisk and choose format, specify the label for your hardisk or simply leave it blank.

My laptop is aspire 4315...b4 my partition in laptop is 2 w/c is drive c and d.now i change my internal hardisk,my partition is only one..my question is how to make a 2 partition just like mine b4?dri

New/ Fresh harddisk only has 1 partition. If you wish to make another partition from installed hdd, you may need partition manager software to do the task. Lots of partition manager on the web. Just google a free one. Try also Easeus partition manager. is a free software for partitioning. Resizing an hdd is simply using partition managers. You can do drive letter changing, format and volume naming.

You can also do resizing during installation of your OS.

Every time i install my sandisk 4.0 gb sd hc into my computer it keeps telling me to install the card.

Check the specs on your computers card reader... Is it compatible with High Capacity SD cards? Anything over 2 gig is considered High Capacity. I'm quite sure you will find this to be your problem. Insert a 1 gig SD card and I'm sure it will read it fine.
