I have a craftsman 6hp, 30gal, m/n 919.165140

I have a craftsman 6hp 30gal m 919.165140 upright air compressor and when I plug it in and turn it on the motor really struggles and then shortly after pops a circuit breaker in the shop phase problem? the day before it was working perfectly.

Sounds to me likt you have a bad motor, or compressor. The compressor rings might be leaking by only holding 100 psi.

How to drain water from 30gal tank of model #919.167312


bring your air up and (make sure you have safety glass) you should have a pit-**** on the bottom of your tank. after your air builds up shut off the unit, and open that pit-**** value (srew) and let the it drain out.

Compressor not working well, blows breaker.


the check valve is defective on the head replace it to fix the problem, it's called a unloader valve. costs $20.00 AND IS EASY TO replace.

Motor run for ever but tank does not fill up with air.


Sounds like you broke a valve. You could take apart the head assembly and check the reed valves but I would check to see if parts are available before you do this. Craftsman compressors are not the easiest compressors to find parts for.

Craftsman 6hp 150psi 30gal won't keep running


It sounds like the internal circuit breaker in the motor is heating up and then the breaker trips to shut down the motor. This is the protection so you don't have a fire if the motor burns up. The smell you have is the coils in the motor. Sorry to say that you will need a new motor for this unit. I hope this helps out.
