I am replacing my old Jenn-Air cooktop with downdraft with a JED 8130. The fan assembly on my old unit was pointed toward the floor and my ductwork went through the floor, under cabinets and outside. The assembly in the new unit is directed toward the wall. Is there a way to rotate this assembly so that I can use my current ductwork?
-   I have the same problem with a model JED8430 It appears that you need a special tool to get inside the plenum to get at the srews. However it appears that the plenum is one piece. Can you help???-   101072
Rotate the blower to the proper angle
needed for your installation. The blower
can be swiveled 90°. To rotate the blower:
a) Remove the filter from the blower housing
b) Loosen, but do not remove, the nuts
around blower inlet.
c) Rotate the blower housing for the
proper angle.
d) Retighten the four nuts and install the
filter.
try this its general for this type of cooktop

I need a new cooktop. I think I'd like a cooktop with 3 gas burners and one electric. but I don't know about the brands. which brand cooks better and which lasts the longest.
Does anyone have any recommendations as to which is better or which to avoid?

Our electrician and I just installed our KA Induction Cooktop the other day, according to the manual... Today I spent close to an hour trying to get a few simple answers from KA support... with no luck! All I wanted to know was a) is the cooktop supposed to sit flush with the foam strip attached... because it does not and we are concerned that an unhealthy buildup of food and liquid waste will grow there (the gap is close to 1/8'') b) is the foam strip necessary or can the induction glass sit directly on the granite c) how close to the front edge should the foam strip have been afixed... the words said one thing, the diagram another this was a very frustrating experience this morning and this close to xmas we would really like to be able to use the cooktop... any help you can provide would be much appreciated
