Sounds like a bad install, re-install win 7, as I know it runs perfectly on that machine

Screen remains black when coming out of sleep mode asus a8n-vm cms motherboard

IT is most probably windows 7 issue. I saw problem with desktop computers coming back from sleep for many times.

I advice you to avoid sleep. If that is not issue, first test memory, cause sleep stores everything to the memory.

Please tell which OS you use ? As said on start it might be Windows 7 ...

Hp pavillion t660a... when i turn power on the light flashes a few times like it would as if it was going to startup normally, then everything goes neutral and nothing happens. is this a motherboard p

It sounds like your computer is in sleep mode or hibernation mode. remove the battery and unplug it from the wall wait a few seconds and try again. If it does it again press the sleep button on your keyboard. Also make sure no flash drives or cds are in the computer during boot up.

How can I enable hibernation on my HP Mini 5101?

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa, the world's largest product support community.

Generally all Windows OS has an option for sleep & hibernate.

Windows XP Users
  • Sleep Mode
By letting your computer idle for a period of time, i.e. not moving the mouse/touchpad, or not pressing any keys except when playing a video, the screen or desktop monitor will go dark. You can resume the computer by moving the mouse/touchpad or by pressing any key on the keyboard.
  • Hibernation or Standby mode
Click Start, click on Turn Off Computer, then click Stand By.

Windows VISTA/Windows 7 Users

To put Windows VISTA & Windows 7 in Sleep or in Hibernation, the steps basically the same. First click Start, then click the small arrow head located to the right of the Start Menu, then you click Sleep or Hibernate.

HP Pavillion a6230n Desktop PC sleeping mode is not working properly. After it entered into Sleep mode, it will keep waking up as long as the Internet cable is plugged in. Any other computer can sleep...

Click on Start, Control Panel, Network Connections, Right click on local area connection that is connected and click properties
Under networking tab, click configure. New window opens, then click on last tab power management, take check mark out of "Allow this device to wake the computer" then click "OK"

When I start the computer the Windows XP Logos light up on the Monitor (HP w1907) when the computer starts the Logo disappears and the monitor goes to sleep

If this monitor (HP w1907) is going into sleep mode the normally blue power led will change to yellow. This indicates loss of video signal or possible out of range resolution. If the picture goes dark and the power lite stays blue, you have a backlight malfunction. It can be an inverter power fault but this model mostly has worn out backlights causing a shutdown condition.

HP Pavillion dv6000 Vista notebook crashes when entering sleep mode

This is a common problem with HP Pavilion laptops, including mine. Check and make sure there are no non-OS programs running that are trying to control power settings (like a power monitor program running in the system/task tray) and then turning of hibernation in the POWER SETTINGS and then for all "WHEN I CLOSE LID" and "WHEN I PUSH THE SLEEP BUTTON" and "WHEN I PUSH THE POWER BUTTON" select DO NOTHING, then APPLY. Then SAVE SCHEME AS and choose any new name. This will disable all sleep modes forever, but at least you can get on with normal use.

If you are geeky, try going into the BIOS and DISABLING anything marked WAKE ON, and disabling anything having to do with automatic power features, and then try hibernating and so forth normally through the OS again. Sometimes this works if there are conflicting settings in the BIOS also trying to increase power efficiency.

Good luck...
