Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Nuvi 610 - External charging causes screen to freeze.

When I connect my nuvi to my PC via USB connector to charge the battery, the opening splash screen image freezes and stays that way until I disconnect the USB cable.
Also when I charge the unit using an AC adaptor, the screen again freezes but can only be unfrozen by pressing the nuvi Reset button.
Any adviced welcome.
Many thanks,
David707

    Thanks Danasaur,
I have solved the problem by buying a kosher Garmin AC Charger. The charger I was using was advertised as a "Garmin compatible" charger but cleary wasn't, so I bit the bullet and bought an OEM one.
Thanks for your advice, which makes sense in the situation when the narrey is low but in my case it was showing fully charged.
    Manty thanks,

Don't disconnect it just because the screen freezes. This can happen if the battery is depleted too far, because the load is too great for charging AND running the device simultaneously. Leave it connected for 20 minutes or so, to see if the screen returns to normal appearance. If not, then you will be needing a new battery. Be sure to charge the new one BEFORE it is fully depleted. They are not NiCd batteries, so there is no need to fear ?memory effect". With NiMh and Lithium batteries, those days are gone, thank God!

When my receiver is plugged into my boom box, I get a display reading "check cradle for power"

It's not receiving enough power from the boombox so the voltage drops too low for the receiver to function properly. Check the cradle connector for bent or pressed pins and the power source of the box for proper functioning: measure the voltage it delivers and the status of its components, especially the filtering capacitors.

Looking for info on how to open skyfi3 to replace battery.

why do you need to replace battery?? It is a rechargeable; just pop into cradle or connect Unit to PC via USB cable to recharge.

I have my skyfi pluged into my computer and it blinks and is not charging or connecting what should I do?

I do not believe the usb charging is supported. Reading others notes, I am not sure it will charge your unit. I had the same problem and had to put it in the cradle and plug it into my car to charge. I went on line and bought an ac adapter so I can charge in my house.

My mifi XM2go radio will not turn on. I have

Sounds like a bad battery. Try plugging DC adapter directly into the bottom of the unit and turn it on - does it still act-up? If so, bad radio; if it works with adapter only, then battery and charging issue.

exact same problem here. the fuse inside is blown, according to sirius tech support. I have a new one "on order" as a warranty replacement. They said it could take up to a month (in canada) i read many bad reviews about this unit... now I agree with them completely. 3 months of light home use before a fuse blows? Pathetic. A month wait for a new one? Unforgivable.

MYFI does not powerup

You may not be getting power through the base because of a bad physical connection between the base pins and the receiver, and it won't power up because it has no battery charge. Try plugging the AC power adapter directly into the bottom of the receiver (not through the cradle). Push the adapter plug toward the back of the receiver to see if the + sign on the battery on the top right of the screen shows that it is now receiving power and charging. Alternatively, with the receiver in the base, try pulling the top of the reciever toward you to tilt the receiver forward on the pins to see if it starts charging.

While in the truck, make sure the antenna is on the outside of the truck. It has magnet so it is easy to stick to the roof. Do not know what to say about the home antenna, mine is not working right now.

Probleme s50 usb conect pc

You have to use My Sirius Studio as the interface to your S50 to add/remove MP3 songs. Depending on your Windows version (hopefully 2000 or later) you should be able to connect via USB and Windows will autodetect the device. My Sirius Studio is a poor man's iTunes where you have to add music files before you can drag them to the playlists you created on your S50. You can download the software from the Sirius web site, including the latest update. Keep in mind you have to disconnect the S50 from My Sirius Studio. You can't copy files to it and then unplug the USB cable.

Blinking and Whining

I had this happen, and I solved it by connecting it to the car charger for a while, then bringing it in and connecting it DIRECTLY to the AC charger for a full charge. (This assumes the battery is not just kaput.)

Here's what I think happens: The AC charger doesn't have enough current capability to run the unit by itself AND keepp the battery charged (bad design), so, if left continuously ON, the battery will eventually drain. In this state, if you shut it off, the unit senses a low-battery condition and will try to charge, but the charging circuit tries to draw too much from the AC charger and the voltage droops (causing the whine) to the cutoff point (causing it to stop charging, another case of bad design). The car charger has more current capability, so it gets the battery charged enough to use the AC charger again.
