-   I just opened an S761 LCD monitor with the same symptom of the green power LED
turning on and off at a slow rate and the screen shuts down just as it starts.
The problem is, at the least, defective capacitors C16, C16, C17, C20, C21 and C22. The problem can be seen by looking at the top of the
capacitor, where the pressure relief slits are, there you will notice a slight upward crown indicating they have built up pressure. Alternatively you can look at the bottom of the caps. to see if any have started to lift
due to the bottom rubber seal
pushing outward.
Not sure why the caps. went bad yet, could have been a surge or defective caps (higher than spec'd ESR), but I quickly checked the rest of the circuit, including the rectifier diodes and it all seems OK.
Will replace the caps. to see if the problem goes away.-
