Question about Bernina Virtuosa 160

1 Answer

Input power We are moving to Singapore and looking at the sewing machine I see it is capable of 100-240V, 50-60Hz., but on the side of the case it shows a decal indicating 110-120V. Is there a user selectable voltage setting on the inside of the machine circuit card?

Yes there will be a selector switch inside the machine, this will be near the motor and is either a rotary or flick switch.

Skipping stitches on bobbin thread Juki DDL555-5. any suggestions?

sounds like u have the wrong needle or machine is out of time. if its a needle feed machine u might have the wrong bobbin case. try lowering the needle slightly. machine is easy to time. theres a mark on the needle bar which u align with the bottom of the bar guide then loosen the hook (3 screws) and move hook till it just starts to meet the needle. careful of side to side movment. bobbin case has to remain in the finger.

Singer 2263 needle hitting something in bobbin area (loud thunk) and needle moves

try taking the bobbin out and putting it back in the bobbin
case if it's a top loading bobbin
if it's a side or front loading bobbin make sure the bobbin case is
inserted correctly
if the bobbin and bobbin case are inserted correctly then
it sounds like the sewing machine could have a timing
problem and needs to be checked at a sewing machine shop

I just purchased a Tacsew T111-155 sewing machine with a bobbin rewinder. Since the bobbin rewinder runs off the drive belt, how do you rewind the bobbin without the needle moving? Is there a button or a...

Hi Diane...you can wind bobbins while you are sewing your product, or you can wind them seperately. To wind them seperately, pull out the bobbin case, lift the presser feet up and lock them in the up position, undo the threading beyond the tension assembly. The takeup will create a birdsnest if you don;t pull the thread from it. Wind your bobbins, the re-thread your machine, insert your bobbin case, drop the presser feet, pick up the bobbin thread and sew away. If you need any other input, call me at 888-283-9640.

Arm wont move and needle wont go up and down any more in the middle of sewing, I was in the middle of sewing and all the sudden it froze up. It wont move any more and when you try you cant hardle move the...

Annoying solution, but works every time. Remove the ENTIRE bobbin casing from the base and then turn the wheel. The needle should lift right out. Reassemble bobbin casing and oil very well.

This generally only happens when you are sewing through several layers of fabric or though a thick fabric. If you are doing neither, the timing in your machine may be off and you will need to get it repaired.

My brother sewing machine went off because of improper power usage. The machine was purchased in USA,(110-120v) I was trying to use it in India (220-240v) I was using a power converter with low...

Sorry to say, you probably burned up the motor (judging from the burning smell). The solution would be to replace the motor, but that might not be as easy as it sounds, especially if your sewing machine is computerized.

I looked all through Brother's web site for a dealer in Chennai, India, but all I could find was this: Hope it helps!! Robbie

I have singer sewing machine. The black casing the bobbin fits in is supposed to move when sewing, I know, but this seems to move excessively and does not fit in tight enough so that when sewing, it slips...

The black bobbin case that the bobbin sites in is not supposed to move at all, on the right hand side of the bobbin case you will see two screws, if you slacken them off you can push the guide bar closer to the bobbin case leaving enough thread to pass through the gap.
