My behringer djx700 does not work properly 2 use the effects u have 2 plug an rca into the booth output on the back but then nothin else works and i can only here my left turntable in my head phones there no switch 2 change over 2 the other one

The first thing I would look at is the kill switches on each side, make sure these are not pressed. Also make sure the master fader is up. I would disconnect anything that may be plugged into the effects loop send and return. Make sure the main outs are plugged in correctly, the main master outs should go to a power amp, this unit appears to be a unpowered unit. Make sure you are using the proper cables to avoid damage, lookup and understand the difference in speaker cords and instrument cords and place them properly. Also make sure the "assign A" and "assign B" are positioned correctly. Hope this helps but, if you give me a little info on how you are using this unit, I could help you further, please.

Re-using an old connector is a hack job. Just get a new correct one from Behringer or search for one on DigiKey.com.

The connector is probably board mounted and it is unlikely an old one from a VCR would match the board connections. The connector will be VERY inexpensive.

I've been using a Behringer XenyX1222FX board in my recording system for about 4 years now and have been quite satisfied with it's reliability. Try to find a dealer who will demo the mixer for you.

Behringer only gives schematics to their authorized service people.

I find I can usually trace stuff out as needed as the mixers are a very symetrical repeating circuitry.

Most components are readily available from other sources.

The effects on the PMP powered mixers flash UNTIL you push in on the selector knob. This way you can dial in the next effect number and then push in later to activate when you want it... Could yours possibly be the same technique?

A trip to your local Radio Shack should solve your problem with the purchase of a mini phone jack to double RCA type (red and white) leads cable.

Jack into the audio out of your Macbook and into the input of your choice on the mixer with the RCA jacks and you are good to go.

Most likely the fuse for the effects circuit has blown, which happens sometimes on mixers with built in effects.

You'll have to open the mixer as the fuse will be inside the mixer on a circuit board (look around inside where the effects part of the mixer is) replace it with an identically rated working fuse and you should be done.
