You need the install drivers... need more information... are the drivers on a CD... or somewhere on your disk...
you can force a plug and play detect from Device manager, and the "found new hardware wizard will prompt you thru the installation... but you need to have the drivers, especially if the hardware is foreign to Microsoft...

I have no sound and my mute is off and volume up all the way.

Make sure that you have installed the audio driver for your computer properly. Otherwise, uninstall/reinstall the audio driver as this indicates a corrupted windows driver. Make sure that you restart the system once you have uninstalled it. You can uninstall this in the Device Manager. Right-click on My Computer then Properties. Click on Hardware then Device Manager. Look for sound and collapsed it. Right click on the Audio Driver then uninstall. Restart.

My audio on my pc is not working says no audio output device found i have a hp paVILION A6177C DESKTOP RUNNING WINDOWS VISTA

The problem here why there's no audio device detected on your system , the software or driver for the audio device is not installed on your computer system, so that's what we're going to do.
I will provide you here a link for the direct download of the audio device of your computer, so just download the audio driver and then once done you need to install the software. This is a executable file so once done downloading run the software to automatically install it to your computer and finally restart the computer to complete the installation.

Here is the link for the audio software that you need.

Realtec audio not working

If you audio driver stops responding, you can try uninstalling the audio driver then restart the computer. First, right-click on the "My Computer" icon and select "Properties". Next, go to the "Hardware" tab and choose "Device Manager". Now you need to look for your audio driver and find the one that lets you uninstall the driver. Do not worry about installing the new driver because the system will find the audio when you reboot your computer which is what you will do after you uninstall the driver. So, reboot and wait. If you audio works you can move on, if it does not work you should go to the Realtec website and look for the most current driver and install that one. This is a start.

First check to see that volume is up =).

If you have the internet on the computer:
If that's not the problem, uninstall and reinstall your audio driver. When you reinstall, let windows search the internet for it when the option comes up. Select "yes, this time only."

To uninstall your driver, go to your control panel, double click system, select the "hardware tab," click "device manager," find the "audio" or "sound..."(it has the megaphone picture next to it), expand the tree(click the plus sign), right click the icon with the yellow question mark, select uninstall.

To install your driver, Follow the steps until "select uninstall." Instead, select install. That's when you'll want to let windows find the driver for your on the internet.

If you don't have the internet on the computer:
Uninstall the driver like above on the computer.
Go to the manufacturer of the audio card's website and look for drivers or google "(company's name) audio drivers," download it to a USB stick or disc, and copy it to your computer.
