Question about Hitachi NR83A2 2" To 3 1/4" Full Head Framer with Depth of Drive

1 Answer

Craftsman combination nailer/stapler

It shots many staples at at time and they don't go in at all only the first one goes in, other times it just makes a noise of air going in and nothing happens.

MY POWER SHOT WONT SHOOT THE BRADS A LOT OF TIMES, WILL SHOOT STAPLES EVERY TIME

These tools are designed primarily as staplers, with a gimmick of being able to shoot brads. If you need to do a lot of brad nailing, purchase a brad nailer -- air or electric -- to do the job. In the meantime, try placing one or two drops of thin machine oil (3-in-1 is a common brand) on the impact area of the tool. Sometimes the adhesive used to form brads and staples into strips builds up on the tool surfaces and keeps them from moving freely.

How do i load the Stanley Bostitch 00540

Hi Diane,

If you look at the back of the stapler, there's a bright red button. Push this in and slightly lift up at the same time, then magazine is withdrawn. Feed a strip of staples in and replace the pusher unit.

Model 351184540 CRAFTSMAN COMBINATION NAILER STAPLER Parts

You can price parts and decide if it is worth it, is the gun old, used much etc. If you don't use it much HF sells inexpensive ones. If you use it more often buy a better name brand at HD, Amazon E bay.
I have a combo nailer/stapler and i only use it for staples. The combo will put a bite mark on your wood. I use a nailer that doesn't leave marks so cleanup before finishing is much easier.

The staples go through the material, but don't fasten or close on the back side

This is not a type of stapler that clinches the legs of the staples. There would have to be a lower jaw to do that. Like a desk top stapler has.

Stanley stapler/nailer gun spits out more than one staple at a time

Sometimes a gun will double fire, quickly fires twice and is caused by worn trigger valve or safety foot. However, two staples driven with one shot indicates that the staples could be the wrong gauge for the gun or the driver is damaged. The driver of a nailer has a taper on one side of the blade to prevent the driver from hitting two staples. The taper will push the remaining staples back into the rails. Make sure that the taper is facing the staples and that the staples are correct for the gun.

Crown Stapler stopped shooting staples

Did you look for a staple jammed in the driver mechanism? If the piston is stuck down, it won't respond to the trigger. Try smacking the top of the stapler onto a wooden bench to see if the force will release the piston. Make sure that you use air-tool oil for lubrication inside the tool. Hope this gets you running!

Stapler works intermittantly

If not the power source or cord, the next activation point would be the trigger. Does the stapler make any sort of noise when the trigger is depressed? What type and model stapler is it?
