Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Hello, I had windows XP Pro and installed Home version instead. My sound does not work. It shows no type of sound hardware detected in the sounds and audio device properties. Under the audio tab, it shows no device detected. But it use to work prior. It is a compaq 510 with TSST corp CDDVDW Ts-633m drive. I went into device manage and right click on it to do a update for that drive and I get wizard can not find a better software for that hardware. Am I not going about this the correct way. Carlos

Installed windows xp pro now i got no sound coming out vof my speakers

You need a driver most likely. You can find the type of sound ard that you have by going doing a right click on "Your Computer" and selecting properties. After properties, select the hardware tab. On the hardware tab, select device manager. Select sound and see what type of card you have. You can then go to that providers site and download the correct driver.

Another possibility is that your speakers have become disconnected. Check to make sure that the wire is connected.

XW4300 Sound Card problem, only working in Windows MP

Most online audio makes use of Adobe Flash, did you check that?
Best is to download and install the latest version of Flash to make sure.

Installing the latest version of DirectX for Windows XP can also help (9.0c).

Please also check for further suggestions about fixing sound problems in Windows XP.

usually the sound card are built-in on the mobo(motherboard), try checking the model and brand of the mobo and download the sound/audio drivers of it.

You may want to check device manager and see if the computer detects that there is a audio controller on the system. then install the drivers.
