Hi there! I think you might need to change your CMOS battery... or update to the latest BIOS available for download from the dell support website.

Cheers!

Rtc battery is low or cmos checksum is inconsistent

The RTC battery is a rechargeable Li-ion "clock" battery that's buried underneath the keyboard - it keeps date and time going when your computer is turned off. If you're getting this message, you should go follow the screen prompt, hit F1 to enter Setup, and set the date and time, leave the computer on for several hours to charge it (the clock battery recharges only with the computer turned on) and it should go away.

In the rare event that your RTC battery is bad, it's really up to you as to getting it replaced or not - it's a lotta work, and not all the battery vendors out there is competent enough to sell you the right kind of battery (installing a non-rechargeable Lithium battery will kill the thing outright, and there are actually people selling these....). Not having a working RTC battery doesn't really interfere with the workings of the computer - you'll just have to set date and time every time you start it, and you can do so manually or by downloading some freeware such as Atomic Clock Sync to automatically do it for you.

Toshiba a60-155. keep getting press f1 setup screen. have to enter date. keys 1 and 2 don't seem to work. can I bypass this page

Don't think you can bypass this thing because the RTC (Real Time Clock) battery is, most likely, dead. But if you can replace the just the keyboard, then you'll still have a working computer. I'd leave the RTC battery alone and use software (such as Atomic Clock Sync) to set the date and time automatically every time the computer boots into Windows.

Vx510le bad rtc chip how to reboot Problem

Bad RTC suggests a bad Real-Time-Clock, and it's usually bad because the battery for that clock has been let run down, or humidity killed that battery. Try replacing the battery first, then consider replacing the chip (using a soldering iron and replacement chip.)

RTC is standing for Real Time Clock.

It's checking it to synchronize your MP3 Player internal clock with the your computer clock.

Is there a patch to fix the clock error? my vostro does not keep time when shut down

Date & Time are kept by RTC (Real Time Clock) CMOS Battery, which is usually a coin-cell battery on the motherboad.
As the RTC of your system is dead, it can not keep time.
Therefore, RTC (CMOS Battery) is required to be replaced with a new one to fix the issue.
Refer here for more information/ disassembly guide.

Let me know if any further clarification is required. Hope this helps! Dont forget to rate the solution!!

You can try reseating the RTC battery:

http://h20464.www2.hp.com/index.html

Real-time clock battery removal Before you begin: Remove the battery and keyboard.
  1. Disconnect the RTC battery cable from the system board
  2. Use a small, flat-bladed, non-conductive tool to flip the RTC battery out of the socket on the top cover.
Real-time clock battery replacement
  1. With the positive (+) side facing up, insert and press the RTC battery into the socket on the top cover.
  2. Reconnect the RTC battery cable to the system board.
If this does not fix the issue, you may have to replace System board

RTC battery

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaM45/Satellite_M45_disassembly_1.htm

the rtc battery is on the motherboard.i doubt its the problem. If you have a voltmeter check your charger to make sure it is working. then make sure battery is charged with the voltmeter. try and run the system without the battery in, just using the ac adapter. if it works with the ac adapter and not the battery your battery probably needs to replaced as its been charged and discharged too many times. you might want to just reload the os. the link i gave gives disassembly to all toshiba laptops. the rtc battery on the motherboard looks like a watch battery. it should be good for 5 years or more. your laptop battery will go long before the rtc battery.

Samsung YP-K3 MP3 Player Problem what is aRTC ERROR and how do i fix it ??????

For RTC error, open Windows Media Player and connect it. Windows media should offer to synch the clock. RTC stands for RealTime Clock

For License Error, this is to be expected around the same time every month. You see, when you transfer DRM protected music, a license is transferred as well. When you use a montly "all you can eat" plan, the licenses expiring every month keeps you from syncing all sorts of songs onto your device, then canceling your service, making away with free music.

Open your music service, connect the device, and synch a song to it. That should update all licenses.
