So i lose my Literati charger right after my birthday! I cant find it anywhere and i found my old t mobile charger and it fits perfectly. But i cant tell if its chargeing and it wont turn on! Please help...

Stop!

There are no voltage and amperage "standards" for low voltage connectors found on devices made to run from an external "wall wart" or transformer type charger or adapter. Just because a connector "fits" does not mean the power is 1) the correct voltage 2) correct polarity 3) correct type (AC or DC) or 4) can supply the amount of power needed to operate the device.

You may have done irreversible damage to your device by literally "grabbing any old charger that fits" to power it. Obtain the correct charger - or if unable to find one; determine the characteristics needed by the device - those variables are listed in 1 through 4 above.

You may find adjustable power sources that allow 1) changing of tips to fit the device, 2) a selector to choose from a range of voltages, 3) a switch to select AC or DC output and 4) the ability to plug in the tip backwards so that the polarity reverses. The last thing needed, is to know how much current in amps or power in watts is needed by the device. The charger / adapter should be chosen on its ability to supply this power continuously - never choose a charger / adapter that provides less than any of the electrical requirements; otherwise damage to the charger or device may occur - and if left unattended, could overheat and cause a fire.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply. Thank you.

I lost my adaptor plug charges, so how?

This is not a complex problem, to find an acceptable charger for your machine all you need is some basic information about the device. First you will need to know the voltage and current requirements of the device. This should be posted usually as a sticker on the bottom of the device near where it would be plugged in, it should say something like 5 VDC 400mA this stands for 5 volts of DC voltage, and 400 mili amperes of current. Next you should take your device to a Radio Shack store they have lots of adapt-a-plug chargers with many voltages and currents and many tips to connect to them. All you need to do is find a correct tip to fit into your device, they have at the store an index where you can try different ones in your device. Once you have found a match you will need to locate either a home charger or a car charger with the EXACT voltage level as indicated on your device. I.E. if your device says 5vdc you need a charger that says 5VDC. Once you locate an acceptable charger check to see that the current rating is greater than or equal to what your device says. Most people think that a higher current rating on the charger will burn up the device, this is not true. The device only draws as much current as is necessary(trust me I am an electrical engineering student). Next the assembly of your charger is as simple as plugging the plug into the charger, there will be instructions on the box. The whole rig is usually less than 20 bucks, so its not too bad.

I misplaced my power cord to my notebook. How do I determine which powercord is the ccorrect one?

A) Look on the bottom of the notebook. Usually states the Voltage (V) and Amperage (A)

Should state > Input: 18.5V/3.5A
(18.5 Volts at 3.5 Amp's)

B) Look at the charger;

The AC adapter (Charger) will state;

Input: 100 ~ 240V/50 ~ 60Hz
Output: 18.5V - 3.5A

Should look similar to this,

I was having problems with the car charger CA-051, then, I used a T-Mobile charger, at first time worked, after that, the GPS Maagellan was dead. Is it possible that I have to order a new battery? or I...

Using non standard chargers is probably the problem. If the battery has suddenly become sogged since using this charger then it may have done more damage than you want to know about.
Was it the correct polarity +ve Tip? was it the right amperage?
Magellan are specific in recommending you only use their charger and with reason, its correctly made for it.

You can try the new battery angle, but get advice on the charger.
As a small note.. Car chargers do NOT fully recharge batteries in GPS. Use an AC or USB charger. The car charger is a maintenance power supply. Always fully charge the unit prior to use and do not plug to car power until engine has been started.
These are standard rules with all non hard wired GPS and phones, ( but not always in the manual, have to have service and new sales someway!)

I worked as a computer tech for 20+ years, and I still hate taking laptops apart. I strongly suggest you take it to someone who knows what they're doing, or you might end up with a useless pile of parts.
