Question about HP Officejet Pro L7680 All-In-One Printer

Printer setup fails at end of installation, comes up with a red cross, is wireless network and says it is all working fine, just can't print wirelessly because of this setup failure, I am not a pro, but have tried lots of things, what else can i do, please don't talk too much computer language. it is a officejet all in one 6500 printer

    There was a automatic update yesterday, which was completed and fixed other problems I had. Still stuck with this stupid red cross

    if I uninstall the disk in the e drive will that delete the disk?? cause I don't really want to do that!! is there another way?

Hello, first off... Go to this HP Website Link and read the info at the bottom right of the screen. After that, Go to the Support & Downloads and have HP Scan your system & Install ANY/ALL Software and Hardware Updates for your device AUTOMATICALLY.. Do an uninstall and a reinstall, is best...To completely uninstall the software, run the uninstaller at level three using these steps:

1. Turn the All-in-One off and disconnect any USB/Ethernet cable from All-in-One to computer.

2. Insert the all-in-one CD-ROM into the computer. Cancel any installation windows that appear.

3. Click Start on the taskbar and then click Run.

4. In the command box type the following command and press Enter key:

X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall_L3.bat

(X: is the CD-ROM drive letter of that the all-in-one CD-ROM is in)

1. Please click on the link directly it directly takes us to the webpage titled 'HP Full Feature Software and Drivers'

2. Scroll down the webpage and please click on the download only option . When it prompts for save, save it on the desktop of the computer.

3. Please wait till the saving process it takes nearly 20 minutes depending on the computer speed. Save it on the desktop only so that it is easier to find later.

4.After completion of the download, double click on the file which we have downloaded and then we will have 3 options: Install, uninstall and add a device.


6.click on install. Please follow the onscreen instructions and it will take nearly 15 - 20 minutes to complete installation.

8.Click on finish when it prompts to complete the installation.

9.Restart the computer and then open the HP solution center or HP director applicable.

Now, we can use all the features of the All-in-One.

A solid green Wi-Fi light indicates that it is connected to a wireless network. An orange light indicates that it is not connected to a network.
Another way to determine if your printer is connected to your network is to print the wireless network setup page. From the printer operator panel, press the Setup button (wrench icon) > Network Setup > Print Setup Page. Your printer will then print the network settings. Check the SSID, signal strength, or trouble code.

Cannot get the wireless connection to work on the printer. The USB cable is connected to the back of the PCU. I've installed and uninstalled twice and nothing. It did work when I first got it and...


Here are some guidelines to identify and fix your wireless communication issue:
  • What is the status of the Wi-Fi light on the printer? Green light means that it's connected to a wireless network while Orange light means it's not connected to a network.
  • Try to print the printer's wireless network settings to determine if it's connected to your own wireless network. On the printer operator panel, touch the Setup button > Network Setup > Print Setup Page. Your printer will then print the its wireless network information page. Ensure that the printer is connected to your network by checking the Network Card Status, Wireless SSID, Quality or Trouble Code.
  • If printer is not connected to your network, you may need to reset your printer's wireless network settings. On the printer operator panel, press Setup button > Network Setup > Reset Network Settings. The Wi-Fi light on the printer will momentarily turn off then back on to solid orange. You can then run the Wireless Setup Utility application on your computer to reconfigure the printer to connect to your wireless network. On your computer, launch the Lexmark Printer Home application > go to Settings tab > Wireless Setup Utility. Please follow the instructions on your computer screen.

Check if your printer is still connected to the same network as your computer. Refer to this article: How to Print the Network Settings Page on X4600 Series All-In-Ones (AIOs). If you the printout, check the SSID and other network information. If printer still belongs to your network, then it could be a firewall issue. Make sure to allow all Lexmark and printer communications in the program rules/permissions for your firewall. If printer doesn't belong the same network as your computer, then you need to reset the printer's wireless network adapter and re-launch the Lexmark Wireless Setup Utility. How do i set up my hp 1012 printer to print wirelessly?


1.Position the printer near your wireless network's router. Plug an Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on the back end of the printer. Run the other end to any of the numbered ports on the back side of the router. Press the "Print Report Page" button on the printer.


2.Navigate to the setup page listed on the report page and click the tab labeled "Networking."


3.Scroll to the "Connections" heading and click "Wireless." Navigate to the tab labeled "Wireless Setup." Click the "Start Wizard" button.


4. Follow the prompts to connect the HP 1012 to your wireless network. Click "Finish" and close the browser.

5.Open the "Start" menu and navigate to "Network." Choose the "Add a Printer" option. Click "Add a network printer."

6. Click "HP Laserjet 1012" and choose "Next" and "Finish" to access the printer through your computer's wireless connection. Repeat the process of adding the printer on any other computers on the wireless network.

My HP c6100 is logged into my wireless network, but does not work when I send information to print over the wireless network.


Fortunately i have a slightly similar model and the issue that happened to me when i tried printing wirelessly was my firewall was blocking the printing, but even after disabling software, it would still not work, so i uninstalled and reinstalled and set it up wirelessly again while having my internet security disabled...
at the end of setup the printer worked fine wirelessly..
there are easier way but this is the more permanent way to resolve for the simple way call the manufacturer tech support they will have some more quick steps to try...

There is conflict between the Printer and Router you are using. The Router is freezing the printer connectivity to the network due to the Wireless radio ON option in the printer

There is a firmware update for your printer, Let your printer be connected thru USB and from this link, download and install the update for your printer and later try setting it up wireless, it should work.

If this step fails, the other step is, to Enter the printer IP Address manually in the printer Network menu from SEtup Option and later run the wireless setup wizard to connect it to the network.

Wireless connection doesn't work (ip not in subnet)


I had fits getting it setup myself for wireless. Despite any efforts to use the wired connection to change the wireless settings, I just couldn't get it to work. I ended up printing the configuration page to learn the expected SSID and then changing the SSID on my wireless router to match the SSID the printer was polling for. At that point it acquired a wireless address properly. Because I was several hours into making it work, I never tried changing anything else after I got it working.

HP C4380, Wireless Printing Problem


Do you have other printer drivers installed, if so thre may be a driver conflict. wireless printing requires network connection and also printer drivers. This appears to be a driver issue since the printer shows up on the network. I would try reinstalling the drivers.

I have a sony vaio laptop running xp sp2 connected wirelessly to an HP C4385 printer. I can't get it to print in this wireless mode and I can't get a response from the printer when I put the printers IP...


I suggest you network the printer and access it through the wireless access point.  

Also, I do not mean to insult your computer smarts, but if you do not have a driver installed, you will not be able to talk to the printer at all.

Cannot configure the wireless USB Print Server


first delte all the programs that u have installed about the print server and the printer.then connect the print server on ur laptop and run the installation .search for the wireless netwrk and connecting to it using the wpa key.After tats done connect the print server to the printer and run the printer installation ,,hope that shud resolve it,,best of luck
