Application has generated an exception that could not be handled

Hi, Just got Seagate freeagent pro 500gb and running it on vista home (32bit). It refuses to launch the autoback up software. Opens up an error box Memeolauncher2.exe, which says application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=0x177c(6012), Thread id=0x87c(2172).
Click Ok to terminate the application
Click cancel to debug the application

If i try to debug, it says Registered JIT debugger is not available. An attempt to launch a JIT debugger with the following command resulted in an error code of 0x2(2). Please check computer settings.

cordbg.exe !a 0x177c

This product is horrible. I have no idea what to do here!!! Please help!!!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

It's a Seagate FreeAgent 500GB, serial number 9QM415RM. It runs perfectly (can hear humming) but my laptop isn't picking it up.

Access the manufacturer's web-site:

http://support.seagate.com/customer/warranty_validation.jsp?form=0

and enter the model-number, and the serial-number, to see if the disk-drive is still under warranty.

If so, Seagate will replace it, at minimal cost to you.
