Hello,

Power off your cdc 815 and leave for a while, allow to cool, after some minutes you can power on back, now try open the tray, if the tray did not still open, power off the cdc 815 and change the power outlet because it is possible that your cdc 815 is not receiving enough power to pull the tray out.

Also, check if there is any irritating smell, because it is possible that a fuse might have been damage, if you notice any, replace the fuse.

Take care.

    Hello,

If the above did not solve the problem, then, you probably need a new load belt. Unplug the unit and
remove the cover. Generally this means taking all the screws around the
perimeter of the back out and perhaps on some units, screws in the
sides. If the cover is one piece over both sides and the top this would
be the case. Every unit is different but it should be apparent if you
    study it a little bit.

Once the cover(s) are off and you can see
the tray, with everything clear, plug the unit into AC and press the
open button. When the tray has moved to the full out position, unplug
the unit. This will allow you to get to the load belt on the load motor.
You should see it now that the tray is not blocking the view. Remove
the belt. It will probably be a square belt and not very long.

Get a replacement for the belt and you see that your cdc 815 player tray will be opening fine.

    Take care.

How do you replace the belt drive in the Yamaha CDC 615?

The drive belt on my CDC-615 stretched out this year too, and needs to be replaced. Unplug the CDC-615 from power. Remove two screws on the left side of the housing, two screws on the right side of the housing, and one screw from the middle top of the rear panel. This will allow the top panel to be removed.
Temporarily re-connect the CDC-615 to power and power it on. Press the "PlayXchange" or "Open/Close" button, which will drop the laser pickup/play head and spindle, and start the open/close motor. Power the CDC-615 down while the motor is running, to leave the laser pickup/play head and spindle in the "down" position. You should now disconnect the CDC-615 from power once again.
From here, you can simply push on the CD tray from behind, until it's in the fully open position. This will reveal the drive wheels (one large and one small pulley) just beneath the tray on the left side, with the tray facing you. This is where the replacement belt goes.
Reverse the steps to put it back together.

CDC-735

Part Number VQ776900. I got it online for 99 cents but other places can be up to 7-8.00 dollars. I removed 5 screws on the sides and rear of the case. Took case off. Press the open button and help the drawer open with your hand while the motor tries to. Then remove old belt with pliers or paper clip, etc.
I did not take anything apart on the inside to replace the belt. Push the belt into the player over the larger wheel and then I pulled the belt with a paper clip over the smaller drive wheel.

The disc tray of my Yamaha cdc-745 CD player does open properly.

It's the belt inside the machine - open tray and look in front left side and you will see it. Easy to change out with new one.

Home cd player will not open

Look underneath the unit for an access hole . It may be labeled as such.
Some CD units offer a manual drawer open device under there.

If you're really brave, unplug the unit and remove the case screws. Pop off the case and get your CD back. The you might need a draw belt. See prbline.com or studiosoundelectronics.com

Yamaha cdc 555 5 disc cd player

If you trust yourself enough to open the case w/o breaking stuff, then open it up UNPLUGGED, locate the laser lens (small, clear, plastic) gently clean the lens with a swab of lens cleaner for glasses.
Also clean the chrome runners that the laser assembly tracks on.

YAMAHA CD PLAYER WON'T PLAY

GG  My kids had a PlayStation 2 that did this and so did my AIWA 3 CD player.  The solution for the PlayStation was to remove the cover use alcohol and clean the lens of the laser reader.  They get dust on them and simply cannot read.  The AIWA required replacement of the laser which cost almost as much as the unit and didn't last 6 months.

My CD changer's disk tray keeps opening up, refuses to play discs

You have a problem with the try control circuit. It could be the switch is leaking across itself. Could be a problem with the tray motor control IC, or the Microprocessor is not reseting the open tray line correctly, or theres a cam assembly inside the unit that tells the microprocessor where everything is by means of small micro/leaf type switches thats out of alighnment or broken. If its seven years old, you got more then it was designed for and I would'nt invest a dime or the time into the repair of this unit. Time to take a trip to the electronics store. Good luck
