Hi. Chaek if you have a flash drive, SD Cards or any USB devices connected to your computer when you turn it on. If you have, then remove them.

You can also try to disable most start up rograms by going to Start, Run then type msconfig... click start-up tab and click disable all. Don't forget to leave a checkmark on your antivirus!

Hope that'll help!

Dell Studio 15 runs slow... My Dell studio 1558 takes long time to boot & processing is also slow,i have tried disk cleanup and defragment hard disk but nothing worked,it has the following...

Check the boot processes in the from your systems control panel and look for unnecessary boot time services. Such as an anti virus boot scan and similar processes. Sometimes it is caused by the network card driver. Start your computer in safe mode and select the selective start up option and disable each service one by one (non windows) to find out which one is slowing down your boot process. It usually due to a boot scan, a faulty driver, or an invalid or corrupt registry entry. I highly doubt that you are infected with a virus and it is due one of the issues listed above.

Acer laptop power button and fan problem

This is usually something to do with network booting, see if your PC is trying to boot from some sort of network device, or network address, real or imaginary, It may also be a virus, trying to connect, somewhere, at boot up, so run a rootkit check too. Check all network settings and privacy settings too.
Here is a program that runs at boot time and tells you what is going on and how to speed up your boot time, it may help. copy/paste below. http://www.soft32.com/Download/Free/BootVis/4-19687-1.html

Vista computer will not boot 1 out of 3 times with linksys usb

Power off the computer.
Power on the system and as soon as you see the Dell logo please tap the F2 button 3 - 4 times.
You'll reach the system setup screen. Look for an option for BOOT. Disabled Boot form network and BOOT from USB. Save and exit from the system setup. This should do the trick.

How to turn on the wireless on a dell inspiron 1501

i just spent 6 hours the other day repairing this exact same laptop for my friend, should have taken an hour, hopefully you have right clicked on the network adapter and enabled it in the device manager, everything appears to be installed correctly but its not,,open the flap on the bottom of the laptop, square door 2 phillips screws, physically look at your wireless card to see witch one it is write down the mdl no.probably broadcom but maybe intel pro, makesure, dont just trust the dell support site and type in your service tag and take what they give you.,also there is a update at the amd web site for this processor to help resolve this problem, uninstall your network adapter completley, check add remove programs for broadcom software, uninstall it,(or intel witch ever one you have)restart check the control panel make sure its gone, change the view when your in there sometimes it hides.get the amd update install it ,restart,go to the dell support site type in service tag,go to drivers an software over on the right of the screen where it lists all your drivers ,learn more about drivers and the order to install them, read it ,go back to the driver page ,if i remember correctly there were three or four downloads for broadcom wireless ,a couple for intel ,and ricoh, i dont know why so many options for a single service tag, usually dell,is pretty good..i fix 3 or 4 laptops a week ,been doing this for a long time(20 years or so)this model with this chip is stubborn, took about 4 tries before it worked ,if you down load the wrong one first it wont work even though it finds the adapter and installs it correctley, and says its working properley, its lieing to you ,uninstall it restart and try it agian changing the order you install the drivers and software, utilities first, network adapter ,then wireless driver last ,i think that was what finally worked, can't exactly remember that was about 5 laptops ago ,good luck

I have a dell 1521 computer and it used to

Assuming that the wireless driver is enabled and working, if not reinstall the wireless card driver. Are all the lights on the router are on, if not power down the wireless router, wait for 30 secs and power up the wireless router. Sometimes when you boot up the wireless card doesn't get an IP address from the wireless router. If you see the wireless icon on the Task Bar with a red X against it, just right click on the icon and click on Repair. This will repair the connection and get the wireless router to issue the wireless card with a new IP address. If you don't have an icon on the Task Bar go to Control Panel - Network Connection and right click on the wireless Network connection and click on Repair.

I have vostro model A840 .. i cant install my wireless network driver..that is wlan 1395 driver.. it says ur hardware is not compatible.. i installed both xp and vista and checked

hi,
was it working when the system first came to you, if so then what you can do is dell factory image restore, but that will wipe off everything including your data on the system so you should backup your data before doing dell factory image restore, one more thing it can only be available if you haven't done any clean os install on the system, to access dell factory image restore you should start tapping F12 key at the blue dell logo and then from the one time boot menu select dell factory image restore.

Acer 4315 WLAN driver for WIndows XP

Sorry if I am coming into this early, but I had the same problem with my Acer Extensa 4420. Eventually, after tons of forum threads, I found that the same chip that's in the Acer computers is also in some Dell computers. Just ignore the fact that it says it's by Dell and download this:
http://ftp.us.dell.com/network/R174291.EXE

Then, extract the files to a folder and from device manager, and point 'Network Controller' (or whatever your wireless adapter is named in device manager) to that folder.
