Ashish goto device manager and check out if there is any component with yellow mark then you have problem in your driver installation.

1.) If you have missing driver then try to uninstall the driver then reboot your system and do installation again.

2.) If there is no any yellow marked icon means you have no missing drivers. Then you have some setting problem. Open the Volume mixer and check out if you have muted your audio output by mistake or made low volume or any incorrect setting for your sound card.

If any more help you nedd just Ask me.

1. Contact the manufactuer for the restore CD. it may have a cost but some manufactures will send you the CD free or will allow you to download the driver set from their site.
2. Go to the "device manager" to see if the sound card is working properly. check for updated sound card drivers. (See the helps menu to get to the device manager found usually in the "control panel"
3.Some sound cards are integrated with the mother board and can stop operating. Due to the sound card drivers at times.

Acer extensa 4620z sound problem

If you cant hear sound, go to Control Panel and make sure your audio device is installed correctly. If audio device has yellow mark, or some error, reinstall your audio device drivers. If you don't have Laptop CD, you can download your audio driver from here: ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/extensa_4620/driver/Audio_Realtek_v5.10.0.5423_XP.zip
If your audio device has no problem in Control Panel, make sure your sound is at maximal level. Hope this helps.

Hi i have a 945 motherboard with xp but audio is not getting installed on it i tried to ac97 realtek but it is not working please tell me which audio to install and where i find it.

Go to the motherboard manufacturer web site for the current versions of drivers needed for your particular operating system. You may have installed original drivers (CD) for the original operating system the MB was made for. A newer operating system will need newer drivers to work properly. 97 is a common on board audio system. Check on "Control Panel/Sounds & Audio devices" and make sure you PC is set to use the correct audio option. If it is correct, go to "Control Panel/System/Hardware and look at the audio in the system list. If there is a yellow astrek next to it, it means that there is a problem with it. Click on it so it only shows the astrek item, right click and select update driver. It will search your system for a better driver as well as the Internet if the computer is on line.
If nothing seems to work there are relatively inexpensive audio cards available. Go to a computer shop and buy an OEM package (half price without the retail packaging). When installing the card be sure the power cord is unplugged. After the card is in your system will say it has found new hardware. Insert the software CD and then let your system get the drivers from it. Afterwords let the computer open the CD (autoplay) and install additional software such as user stereo controls design for the sound card.

Sound driver is properly install but the voice is not come out .please give your suggestion.

when installing the drivers check that the drivers are related to that hardware only. some drivers from other sources will install but will not work correctly.

if you have installed drivers from the original cd that came with your motherboard(if onboard sound) or the sound card (pci card). then let windows search for the driver in the cd. you don't select the particular driver.

first uninstall the drivers you currently have and then reboot the sys and wait for the system to find for the new hardware device. then choose the option
-> search in the removable media
and then insert the cd.

if this doesn't solve the problem.
check in the bios settings, advanced option that onboard sound card is on for onboard sound
and this is off for internal sound card.

if your motherboard has Realtek sound card then go the site and download the new driver. check the correct ALC codec.
if you are using internal sound card like creative. then download the updated driver.

and also check in the control panel of windows of the "sounds and audio devices properties"..,

in the first tab your sound card name should be visible and in the third tab in default device your audio card name should be specified.

hope this helps

Sound

First of all if this doesn't help you fix your problem. PLEASE do not rate it.
Have your soundcard CD on hand.
1.) Uninstall the software that came with the sound card.
2.) Right click My Computer, select Properties, click on Device Manager button under Hardware tab.
3.) Go down the list to Sound, expand that into a list. Double click Legacy Audio drivers, choose uninstall.
4.) Shut down your PC and at the back of the machine, turn the rocker switch to the 0 or off position. Remove the side cover. You should not see a bright LED light glowing on the mainboard.
5.) Remove the sound card from its current PCI slot and move it down one or up one slot.
6.) Replace the side cover, bootup and press f2, F10 or DEL whichever key gets you into the system bios setup pages. You want to find the Onboard Devices page or page with Onboard Devices listed. Highlight onboard audio or AC'97 and the toggle to disabled. If it is already disabled leave it alone, now go to the exit page and bootup.
7.) When you have your desktop but things are still loading, you may be prompted to install drivers for new hardware. Press Cancel or ESC to back out of the Windows Add New Hardware wizard.
8.) Insert the install CD and allow it to install the drivers and then follow up with the associated programs.
9.) Reboot your computer and insert your analog audio out or spdif out to your speaker system's input panel.

Once you reach your desktop again, double click the volume icon in the system tray and check that the proper sliders are up and not muted.

Go to, Control Panel, Sound and Multimedia. Access the property pages for the speakers and ard. Choose digital output only.

You should be good to go at this point. Insert an Audio CD and you should receive sound once again.

If this doesn't work... still, you have a bad sound card. I've returned two to Creative so far. You will want to contact their support department and request an RMA and refer them to our troubleshooting run down

Good Luck,
Worldvet
REMEMBER, if this hasn't worked please DO NOT rate this solution. There was only a 50/50 chance it would work.
