Can't get microphone to work with Jing

I used to be able to plug in the headphone with mic, turn on Jing and record just fine. Now I can't get my voice recording. I've tried the troubleshooters and the voice recognition and managed to get some results by using the webcam mic, but still don't get my voice using Jing - just static.

Nexus 7 tablet mic doesn't work in portrait mode

The microphone for the nexus 7 is a small hole on the right hand side of the tablet, just below the volume button. Make sure your hand and any cases you're using aren't covering this when you're trying to do a voice search.

Toshiba Satellite 1905

First, try pluging in an exteral mic to check the mic itself is not broke. Next Go to the device manager to check for driver problems (control panel, system, Hardware look for yellow ?'s) Check control panel, Sounds and Audio, audio, sound recording, volume. There are just too many ways to mess with the sound settings, and they often seem to just mute themselves!
Good luck

Turn on mic

Hi,

I read the question and i suggest that if the notebook has inbuilt microphone then the mic is already enabled if u have installed the proper drivers but if u plug in external mic then check the pin and socket of microphone. if this does not work go to control panel and then sound and then check the microphone
