Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Trying to sort aux-in

Hi - I recently purcahsed a wharfedale cd player.

It has a Left and Right Aux-in slot. I tried to plug in a standard 3.5mm male male jack, so I could connect my iPod directly.

However, as there is a left and right slot, it only comes out one speaker and VERY quietly. Is there a cable which can convert from the left/right aux-in input to the standard 3.5mm jack?

thanks :)

Hi,
as you do not mention the model I have to guess that your player has a aux-in on phono (or RCA) jack. If you want to plug the iPod just buy a "Twin phono to 3.5mm stereo jack cable".
You can find in many superstores or Maplin.

Ok...I have an Alpine CDE-9845 and i wish to play my ipod by using an aux cord but i have no clue where to plug it in at

Hello,

You will first need an audio cable that has a 3.5mm male end on both sides of the cable.

You will plug in one end into your mp3 player, and the other end into the 3.5mm audio jack on the front of your cd player. On rare occasions its on the back of the cd player.

Then instead of putting your cd player on the radio, or cd, the other option will be Aux. Start your mp3 player up and you should be able to hear it on your car audio system.

This is the standard setup for running an mp3 player through your car stereo. Thank you for choosing Fixya!

for these stereo you have a AUX IN on the back (L and R RCA sockets)
from your manual follow these steps.
1. Press [AUX].
The unit comes on.
2. For listening: Proceed to step 3.
For recording: Press [a, REC] (recording starts).
3. Start playback from the external source. (For details, refer to the
external unit’s instruction manual.)
External unit connections
An analog player with a built-in phono equalizer can be connected.
For details, refer to the instruction manual of the units which are to
be connected.
When units other than those described above are to be connected,
please consult your audio dealer.

then you need a ipod audio cable, available on mac store, but these cabble has 3,5 mm jack connector, need a adapter 3,5mm stereo jack to rca Connectors, and these is available on electronics stores, or professional audio store

Hi do you know if the wharfedale ics 182 can play an ipod

You need to plug the iPod into the Aux socket, its on the front bottom right corner. Then you can switch by pressing "Mode" between playing either the CS - USB - SD - AUX.

To play iPod, select the "AUX" option.

Getting it to play my mp3player

I've tried the same thing trying to get it to work without having to buy the aux adapter for it.

You need to buy 2 items to get your pioneer to work in aux.

1. buy the Pioneer auxiliary input adapter CD-RB10
2. buy a wiring harness that has 2 rca inputs on one end and a male plug to plug into your mp3 player on the other end.

You should be able to find these online or even at any electronic stores that have car audio installation as a service.
