Question about SanDisk Sansa e130 MP3 Player

SanDisk e130 - died after firmware upgrade failed

From some web browsing I gather that the e130 will handle 2Gb SD cards so I got one but it wouldn't work - I guessed that maybe I needed a firmware upgrade so ...
I tried to upgrade the firmware in my e130 using sansa-2.0.0.01e.exe and got an 'upgrade failed' message and now it won't turn on at all.
I've tried re-running the upgrade and it goes into 'Recovery mode ready' and fails with that as well.
Is there anything I can do to get this working again?

(I've tried the - remove battery for 5 min etc. fix but no go so far)

I'll hate to lose this beast as SWMBO and I both have (had) SD capable MP3 players so we could swap cards when we are on holiday.

    2gb card recognized but playing anything on it or not picking up music from there.

Hi there

Always make use of an XP Operating system when updating your Firmware. I tried several hours with Vista to no avail. Brain wave then came through me, and I tried an XP machine, woza, and fixed.

Try re-formatting the player (FAT) , run the upgrade, and format your 2gb card to FAT as well. Should work.

Memory card wont format. I bought a new 4G sandisk memory card but all it says after formatting is the card is full.
The S200 uses SD cards. Your new 4GB card is actually an SDHC card and will not work in the S200. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Sansa c240 and a 4 GB Micro SD HC card.
Sansa C240 can only read SD cards that are NOT SDHC - that means it can only read up to a 2gb Micros SD card.

I think the C330 is not compatible with the SDHC cards.
The spec for the SD card format is going to 2GB but the Kodak C330 not compatible with 2 GB SD memory cards.

Z3 will not accept a 2g card
The Dimage Z3 accept SD cards up to 1GB (Minolta says 512 Mb, and sold it with 16Mb). This camera is 4MP , and uses less memory on card, therefore a 512MB card will be enough for it.

2gb micro sd From Sandisk printer won't read.
From what info I have gathered is that my card reader on my printer is old and will not read that big of card. so off to the computer store to buy a new card reader.

4 GB micro sd and the Sandisk Sansa e250R...
If the 4gb micro SD is a high capacity SD (it will say micro SDHC on it) your player may not be able to read SDHC cards, my sansa can't because it's the 'older version' it will read 2gb and below micro SD cards though (it sucked when I found out because I had just bought a 6gb micro SDHC)

Trouble using an SD Card
If Sansa e130 or 140 is version 1.x.x.10, SD card MUST be formatted as FAT (FAT16). Music files need to be on the root directory for better performance. I have a SD card (2 gig) formatted as FAT16 and the music plays good.

I was not able to upgrade my e130 to Version 2.0.0.1 Firmware.

I have a 1GB SD card in my E130 Sansa. I had fill it up to 998MB. The only problem is that I have to leave 3MB in the flash unit. I guess it need it for constructing the Music Library.
The Flash (512MB) and the SD card (1GB) are both in FAT32.
I guess that it may be a problem of the SD card itself and not a problem of the Sansa.
1) Have you tried to read the SD card with a card reader (without the Sansa)?
2) Have tried formatting the SD card (not a quick format, but a real one) in FAT32 (be careful about that).

Hi. The E100 series players (including your E130) can only support up to 2GB SD cards.

Holas necesito ayuda con mi mp3 sansa e260 de 4 GB el otro dia lo estaba usando se apago porque salio un mensaje que decia que la bateria estaba baja, cuando lo conecte a mi pc para cargar la bateria me salia un mensaje de Connected, seguidamente de Writing y despues Refresh Database, y asi todo el rato pasa lo mismo de modo que no se puede cargar la bateria, y si lo dejo asi despues de un rato la pantalla se pone de color blanco.
