I found an old 'VTech e-Mail PostBox Conpanion' box, model #80-3647, serial #020025649 0101 in a yard sale (cost "get that trash out of here"). I can remember when the units first came out. There was no manuals with it. Where can I go to print out the necessary manuals and/or paper work to try and get the unit up and running, if possible?????

I looked over and not even on the Vtech support site there isnt anything about ...But I did found an article that says something that some providers still connect them ...and so...make a phone call to your internet provider to see whats the solution ...I understood that once connected the Yahoo domain have a working service ..(at least they use to ) ..not free but still on..
if it is functional ..I guess it has a Lan card or a modem function that you have to configure ...I tried to find you some tutorials about ..but I guess it is a museum piece and no one has the will to do it ..

What is the vtech cpmpanion laptop for? It was bought at a garage sale

The companion was used as a standalone (no computer needed) email machine. Email accounts were provided through Yahoo! and Internet connection was provided through a company called Unbound Communication (a subsidiary of Vtech) Unbound does not appear to exist today. Don't know if the machine can be used with another provider, the Unbound company may have been hard programmed in the machine.

At the request of my mother, who had bought one of these machines new in 2001, I'm looking to see if the machine can still be used. It is limited in what it can do (no images, etc) but it was an easy to use (one button connections) machine.

I just bought a new looking vtech e mail postbox companion 2 at a thrift store. Can this product still be used? How much does the service cost? Thank you

The original Internet service provider -- Unbound Communications (a subsidiary of Vtech) -- appears to be no longer in existence. If this company was hard coded into the set up program, it may not be usable today.

I also am looking into this for my mother who purchased one new in 2001 and is looking to start using it again.

V-Tech Connect Email Postbox Companion (COMPANION)

I don't think this machine is still supported. My mother also wants me to "resurrect" hers, but the original Internet service provider -- Unbound Communications (a subsidiary of Vtech) -- does not appear to still be in business. If this company was hard coded into the set up program it may not be usable today.
