My new Lowrance Hook-5 GPS isn't working, I'm a noob, how do I get this function working?

'isn't working' is such a broad problem. If it is only the GPS, it is covered from Page 49 of the manual and shows you can access Satellite information. Note, it almost certainly won't work in your garage or storage. It need to see the sky as the antennae is internal.

The unit has an installation guide. In my personal opinion, it is better to let a professional boat engineer install it, mainly for the correct fitting of the transducer on the stern. Correct placing makes all the difference to a good set up, unless you intend to fish without the engine running.

All they need is mounting, power through a fuse direct to the battery, and the transducer fitting. Then you put the boat in the water and switch it on.

Does the x510c have a speed and temp transducer or just the paddle seperately

Hi Rick

There is only one transducer. for speed/temperature. From page 2 of the owner's manual (see link below)
"A single-frequency with built-in temperature
sensor is packed with the X-510c"

Hope this helps and happy boating!

How can a lowrance 5300 globalmap iGPS be used as a fishfinder.

Sadly, the 5300 does not have fishfinder/depth capability.
If you require it, the link below is for the owners manual for your unit.
Sorry I couldn't have given you happier news.

X510c most of the time it reads 1.6 for the depth, it flashes 1.6 then it will go to the correct depth for a shqrt time then get stuck on 1.6 again some times other depths but mostly 1.6

Does this occur at any depths...over 20ft even.

The X510c will have problems keeping depth in shallow water...especially if it is muddy, weedy down there.

If the problem occurs even in depth over 20ft, then try resetting the unit:

1. Turn unit off
2. Press and hold ZIN, ZOUT, and PWR until you see the depth (flashing or not) in the top left corner.

If the problem still occurs, make sure the transducer is clean and still mounted so that it is sending the signal straight down to the bottom.

If the problem still occurs, make sure the power is good. You can have the voltage displayed on the screen through the overlay data menu.

Does the problem occur at any speed? If the problem clears up when you stop or slow down, the problem is due to cavitation and the transducer will need to be moved to a location where it is in a smooth flow of water at all speeds.

If none of this helps, there may be a malfunction with the X510c. You can try to update it but you will need to get the software update from someone at Lowrance support and then find a way to connect your X510c to a Lowrance unit that has a memory card slot via a NMEA 2000 network. I can help you with this if you need.

Other than that you can have the X510c returned to the factory for service.

My lcx15mt will not respond. How do I reset it?

check internal 5 amp fuse.  Take screws out and open unit.  Fuse is in the middle of the circuit board.  It is a regular 5 amp automobile fuse. Bob W.
