This appears to be a unusual problem but it is not.
If you had a power outage even if the set was not on at the time it can affect the set. The set has a microprocessor that looks at things every time the set is turned on or off.
Even a brief interruption in power can "confuse" the set.
With set turned off, UNPLUG TV FOR AT LEAST TEN MINUTES and then plug back in and see if all returns to NORMAL.
I would hope it does as the other possible cause is something serious is wrong with the microprocessor circuitry in the set.
