thanks for your help, but i realised that i was supposed to take out some screws that were put there for transportation. the delivery drivers had removed all the packaging except for that!! just glad it now works and is not seriously damaged!

Washing cycle on a 40degree op. takes more than

Don't forget that the reason you bought a front loading washer is for the efficiency of the washing. In other words, front loaders use less water and get clothes cleaner without all the harsh beating that the older agitator units do.

If you're using any of the pre-programmed wash cycles, you might want to tgry another cycle to see how it does for getting your clothes clean with a shorter cycle.

If you check your owners manual, it should provide the cycle times for the various wash and water temp settings. The colder the water you use, the longer the wash cycle typically is, since it takes more agitation and time to get clothes clean, especially with front loading machines. Hope this helps.

Washing machine fill but won't go through cycle.

Too empty your machine reset the programmer to Final spin. the machine should empty normally.

If you have a fast flashing light its most likely to be 1 of 2 things.

1. The belt from the motor has broken. (price for belt is less than 20 pounds.)

2. The brushes in the motor have worn down too much to make the drum turn. Look underneath the washing machine to see if black power (Carbon) is deposited under the motor.
(Price for set of brushes is less than 20 pounds)

Labour should be no more than half an hour by anyone decent.

Regards

Suggestion: The pipe behind your machine has to have a certain height (the machine drain pipe); it does not go directly into the drain at floor level. Check this out.
