I cannot take the f off when programming the department key, e.g Drinks: FDRINKS keep coming up, how do i take the f off

Sounds like when the till was programmed somebody either spelled it wrong by accident or you have a global command on someplace. But as to how to turn it off, not a clue, think you may have to go back to the manual and see how it was programmed in.

You don't reset keys. Just program your new settings over the old programming for that key and it will work again. Look up department key programming and try turning everything off/ disabled for that key

You don't normally use departments for priced items. You use PLU keys for this. Departments are for basic category entries like misc products or changeable products. A dept might be 'drinks' and a PLU might be 'Can of Coke'

If you put in REG mode and hit #/SBTL it will clear the "P", but it may modify some of your programming depending on what you were doing (such as keying in an amount and department). Usually it is preset unit price for a department key that may change. You can check this on the report. If you keep an old programming report, you can check to see if anything has changed. If it has, go back to PGM mode and reprogram.

You have programmed SICS or single item cash sale. Check the programming for that department and set SICS to off

This is how to check:

Running the Department Confirmation Report

You can print a report that shows the programmed information for a range of departments or for all departments. The range report is helpful if you want to see the programmed names of some of the departments, but do not need to see all the departments and other cash register programming.

You can also print a report that shows department information and sales.

For more information, see Running Management Reports on page 85.

Note:

Unless you specify a department range, all departments print in the
Department Range Report. This will take a few minutes.

To run a department confirmation report:

Programming > Department Set Up > Depart Conf Report

1 Press the Main menu (on) key.

2 Press the Arrow Down key to select Programming. Press the Amount Tend Total <Enter> key.

3 If you are prompted for a Manager Passcode, type the passcode number and then press the Check key. If you did not program a Manager Passcode, go to the next step.

4 Press the Arrow Down key to select Department Set up. Press the Amount Tend Total <Enter> key.

5 Press the Arrow Down key to select Depart C onf R eport. Press the Amount Tend Total <Enter> key.

6 Select how you want to see the report. If you select Display, use the arrow keys to review the report in the clerk screen.

Describe use of department keys please


Hi. They are category buttons and they are used to input amounts into a category. For example, a cafe may have their departments labelled coffee, cold drinks, hot food, cold food etc. When using the department in REG mode, you type the price on the numeric buttons (remember never to use a decimal point. $5.50 would be typed as 550) then press the department that the product belongs to. Do this for each of the items you are selling, press SUBTOTAL to bring up the amount for the customer, then pay for the sale with one of the payment types (cash, credit etc). The rest of programming for departments depends upon the brand and model. Hope this helps.

E34 message when pressing dept 9 key


Someone has programmed an entry digit limit on that department. Look through the programming for departments and set the entry digit limit back to default for that department. I don't keep the department codes on hand as I never set limits. It should be in your manual. Programming for cash register te-2400


Hi. It's best to link to departments, as they will normally show up on the standard report at the end of the day.

Turn key to Program mode.

3 SUBTOTAL

1166 SUBTOTAL

Now type the PLU number you want to link. E.g if you want to link PLU 6, then press 6 on the number pad (don't press the actual PLU, just type its number on the number pad)

Now press the button marked PLU. It should be near the other function buttons.

Now type the department number to link to. Use two digits. E.g to link to dept 5, type 05 on the number pad.

Press CASH

Press SUBTOTAL

Once you have linked your PLUs to various departments, just name the departments to suit. If you are not sure how to change dept text, just let me know.

Negative amount


Sounds like one department is selling / transferring from another department.. You should see offsetting numbers in the other departments to track it down. Just look for positive entries in other departments that match the negative entries, and verify with date & time stamp and item / SKU number. May be a programming error.
