a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

If you disconnect before the full installation completes, your device can get buggy. I'd try their customer service line to help you walk through the troubleshooting. The maps that come preloaded may be out of date, which is why they include the free upgrade and guarantee, but I wouldn't hesitate to give them a call at 1 866 486 6866. It'll be more helpful than waiting on emails

If I am correct you can put it on the sd card
There should be a slot for the card on the unit .
also you can check on their web page .

Easy solution: [TomTom HOME] - [Tools] - [Use Latest Map Guarantee]
This helped me, after interrupted download destroyed the map with "No maps found" as result.
Althought before that I did several other things, partially on my own, partially thanks to TomTom support. They might or might not be necessary for it to work. Here they are:
== Followed TomTom advise:
"In Home v2.xx
Tools/Preferences/Folder preferences/Downloads/Browse and delete the downloads folder
Exit Home by right clicking the HOME icon in the Windows sys tray ( next to the Windows clock ) and then open it again
Via Start > Programs ( this will create a new downloads folder)
Log-in again ( Very important) and click on update your device
Please ensure that you have the latest version of Home installed [..] and that you are logged in ( File > log In )"
== Before that I had done this:
1) Removed in user directory "[..]\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Download\map\Western___Central_Europe_2GB".
2) In the root directory of the device removed directory "Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB".
(After this I also did complete uninstall of TomTom HOME 2, with following manual removal of directories (1) "[..]\My Documents\TomTom\HOME", (2) [..]\Application Data\TomTom\HOME", (3) "C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2", rebooting and following re-installation, but possibly that was an overkill)
...Now suddenly everything works just fine.
