Had the same problem with my Samsung SyncMaster 940N. It was actually plugged in my UPS, the problem was solved by plugging the monitor into a normal outlet.
Chech out some other devices near by to the monitor, they might cause interfearence and in a result your monitor flickers.
1. If there is nay CVT/UPS near your monitor put it away.
2. If you have any speaker without magenetic sealed it will cause flickering, keep it away from monitor.
Otherwise your monitor need to be get service. So please contact your manufacturer service centre.

The power source switch option didn't work although my battery software reported extra use of power just once and never again.
It can temporarily be made stable by touching it, moving it, etc.
I use a philips monitor. I'm sure it's not a driver problem as the problem exists before windows boots and in the menu(OSD, I think)
