Flickering picture my computer is working, but the picture keeps flickering with lines running through, can you solve my problem..

  • Anonymous Aug 16, 2008

    Me too!
The power source switch option didn't work although my battery software reported extra use of power just once and never again.
It can temporarily be made stable by touching it, moving it, etc.
I use a philips monitor. I'm sure it's not a driver problem as the problem exists before windows boots and in the menu(OSD, I think)

Had the same problem with my Samsung SyncMaster 940N. It was actually plugged in my UPS, the problem was solved by plugging the monitor into a normal outlet.

Chech out some other devices near by to the monitor, they might cause interfearence and in a result your monitor flickers.

1. If there is nay CVT/UPS near your monitor put it away.
2. If you have any speaker without magenetic sealed it will cause flickering, keep it away from monitor.

Otherwise your monitor need to be get service. So please contact your manufacturer service centre.

Thanks

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

Monitor flickers and goes blank after 5 seconds and keep repeating this very often.

Hello,

If you turn the monitor off then about 1020 sec turn it back on and have a picture for five sec again it sound like the power supply in the monitor. but if that did not solve the problem, the picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault and will need to be replace.

I advice you replace the picture board on the screen of your monitor to solve the problem of the blank screen.

Take care.

White lines on webcam picture

Since it works OK on one machine, it has to be the software or settings.
Launch the Logitech toolbar onto your desktop during the problem time of day.
Plug the webcam in and start it using the Quick Capture button ( 2 film frames picture )
With the cam running open the 'Settings' menu ( 2 gear wheel picture )
Return to default
Run down the menu down the left hand side checking Anti flicker - right light etc for improvements
If no improvement can be found - disconnect webcam - uninstall software - restart computer and download by going to the Logitech support website - identify your webcam - click on it and download software.

Same problem with dv2533tx, do i need to buy a new screen?

Connect your laptop to external monitor through vga port, if external monitor shows the same (lines, dashes, distorted picture, etc...), then its a faulty mottherboard and unfortunately you will need to replace motherboard,
but if external screen shows normal picture, then this means that you have to replace internal screen only and thats very easy - just unscrew screws under rubbers on screen surrounding bezel, remove bezel, then unscrew 4 screws from the sides holding screen to hinges, unplug data cable and inverter cable, remove screen, on otherside there is part number, look on ebay for new screen by part number or just for DV2000 screen and fit it back. In this case fixing gonna cost to you about 50$-80$.

Ghosting, Flickering, Green Sparkeling Lines, Color Washout.

There is a component failure on the board inside the display. Since you did not post the model number that is all that I can tell you.

I had a similar problem on a different monitor and fixed the green sparkles by selecting a lower refresh rate.
