Question about Bosch 24 in. SHE44C02UC / SHE44C06UC / SHE44C07UC Built-in Dishwasher

My Bosch dishwasher, model SHE46C, will not start. The circuit breaker is not tripped. Once in a while when the start button is pushed, it does sound like a pump is coming on and then it stop. Any ideas on what could be the problem?

Hi D. McKinney and welcome to Fixya. The problem could be a a simple one like a poor connection at the dishwasher junction box. Based on your discription that's what I'd suspect. Having said that I would start by first shutting off the breaker. Then removing the kick plate ( access panel at the bottom ) and checking the wiring at the junction box for the dishwasher 120vac supply line. This is actually quite common to find a wire connector come loose due to improper fastening and once the unit is in use for a while the connections heat & cool, become loose from normal operating vibrations and burn up from all the added heat caused by "resistance". The end result is no power to the controls. Check it out and post back what you find. Thanks for visiting "fixya" and please take a moment to rate the solution/suggestion provided here for you. Good luck. Macmarkus :)

Hi, I have a Bosch exclusiv dishwasher of 2002 vintage. Recently it has stopped working. When you press the start button you can hear the pump running but it wont let in any water, I have checked for power down to the water solenoid and it appears to have no power down to it. If the machine is left for a week it will perform a wash cycle perfectly but then thats it for several days. Could a relay be failing on the logic board?

rcd units trip from the milliamps that are in a short
it trips the rcd to prevent electrocution and acts in nano seconds besides being a circuit breaker for excessive current
the trip can be from moisture allowing a current leakage to ground or some other simple operation
I suggest that you get in a qualified electrician / bosch service technician to find the reason for the problem rcd

Circuit breakers do fail. You could swap a different 15amp breaker from another circuit to test this hypothesis, or just swap it with a new one. At least this way you'll know it isn't a power supply issue.

Hi! My Bosch began by tripping the breaker during the cycle (several times if I could get it to reset) and now will not start at all. Even when the dishwasher is off I cannot reset the breaker unless I...

Hello

Welcome to Fixya.

Based on your post,"...Even when the dishwasher is off I cannot reset the breaker unless I kind of move the machine around a bit. Sometimes it pops the breaker just closing the door..."

These are the most common reason for these Bosch dishwashers not having power.

I would start by first shutting off the breaker. Then removing the kick plate ( access panel at the bottom ) and checking the wiring at the junction box for the dishwasher 120vac supply line.

Remove the murret's and visually inspect the wire for "resistance burn" and strip the wires back and install new fastener's if necessary to repair.

This is actually quite common to find a wire connector come loose due to improper fastening and once the unit is in use for a while the connections heat & cool, become loose from normal operating vibrations and burn up from all the added heat caused by "resistance".

A wire severed inside the door panel, hence the breaker trips by just moving the door in an open/close motion.

Check thoroughly in this location...

The end result is tripping the breaker and no power to the controls.

My dishwasher won't start. I pushed the start botton. It does not light up. Nothing has happened.

Assuming the mains power circuit breaker has not tripped, it is likely an internal thermal fuse has tripped.

Can you please provide the full model no. of you dishwasher

I have a bosch dishwasher model # I believe is SHX4AP05UC it keeps tripping my braker in the middle of washing wont complete a cycle any suggestions?

Adam, in order to help you, you must provide me with more info. What size breaker is tripping. What does the maufactor's manual reads about what size circuit it must be plugged into. If your house is a little old you probably have a 10 amp breaker that is tripping. If so than the manufaturer states theat it is recomamded to place it onto a 20 amp breaker. Only switch out the 10 map breaker to a 20 amp breaker if your the wire from the breaker is a 12 gauge wire.
Do not put a 20 amp breaker onto a 14 guage wire because it will most likely melt the insulation due to heat whichwill expose the bare copper wire which could lead to burning your house down.

Bosch Dishwasher will not power on

I saw my repair man do the following, which you might try...
Open the door and simultaneously press & hold down the power button with the 2 buttons used on your model to "Cancel & Drain." If the unit comes on it now is in self-diagnosis mode. Release the buttons and close the door. The unit should start to fill with water. Press the power button to exit the mode.

Have you checked the breaker? Is the dishwasher on its own circuit or on shared circuit with the kitchen outlets? If shared with the kitchen, might one of your GFI's be tripped?
