Hi.. The "central shaft" could mean the motor shaft is not turning or the "central shaft" could be the paddle shaft in the bread pan is not turning. If it's the motor shaft then tighten or replace belt. Since you "lost all your stuff" it could be the sealed bearing in the bottom of the bread pan has broken. The paddle doesn't turn and is leaking. If this is the case the bread pan needs replacement. Hank

Black stuff is coming up from the center mixing part and getting into my bread. Is it grease? How can I get rid of it? Thanks for any advice. Leanne

Hi, Yes it is a form of grease. The sealed bearing that the paddle shaft fits through has failed and is leaking out the lubrication. You will need a new bread pan. (Sorry it took so long for you to get a reply). Hank

I need to replace bread maker paddle

Your model number for the all in one pro should be a B1650 (single paddle model)

If that is correct then this is one source for the paddle:

http://www.abtecparts.com/commerce/search/products/?product_id=01XBD42959200&merchant_id=1933

An informationl note about Black and Decker products is that there are replacement parts for anything they make as long as they have no discontinued the model number. Once the model number is discontinued they have aftermarket replacement parts for 5 years only.
(your replacement paddle is starting to show up as no longer available)

The orignal paddle part number is: 429592-00

Here is a 2nd source for the paddle:

Hi Jenny,
The black swirl stuff is the lubrication from the bearing that used to be sealed on the bottom center of the bread pan. (The paddle fits onto this bearing shaft). That bearing is broken and is leaking, causing the whole bearing and shaft to move. Time for a new bread pan.

Kneading blade will not cone out toastmaster 1171

I also had a breadmaker where the paddle didn't want to come out. (I acquired it that way.) After trying to take it apart, using a pliers (wrapped a cloth around the paddle), squirting WD-40, and a few other things, I finally had my male friend try getting it loose. He finally did, using the pliers with a cloth around the paddle. After that incident, I oil all of my paddles (cooking oil or butter). I buy and sell bread makers so I've had dozens but only one with that problem. Usually, soaking does the trick. Hope this helps.

Blades stuck inside bread

Unfortunately trying to stick the paddles in the pan just tends to leave half the loaf in the bottom with them. The best method i have found is to cut the crust around the outside of the paddles, carefully avoiding the bit where the actual paddle blade is, then you insert a rod into the centre of the paddle and tilt it towards the blade. They normally come free pretty easily. Another method you can use if you are around the machine when it is making bread, is to remove the paddles at the end of the mixing/kneading cycle, just before the baking cycle starts. Most machines have a small pause allowing you to do this - sometimes with a "beep" or screen message to tell you that you can do this. Sorry i couldn't find the exact info for your model, it will vary for different baking programs also. If you check the cycle to determine at which stage it starts actually baking, then you can do this quite safely so long as you are careful of the machine heating up while you are removing the paddles - usually you would have around 20 minutes at least to remove the paddles before baking. Hope this helps :)
