Question about Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook
Dell Inspiron E1505 will power on then off after 3 seconds. The CPU fan does not turn on either. The similar response to fix by running a virus scan has NOTHING to do with this problem. Just need to narrow it down to the CPU, the CPU fan or worst cast the mother board. Thanks.
Any real helpful hints ??
If the system will not run long enough to run diagsnostics, I'd replace the heatsink and the fan

Could be a power issue. try taking out battery and power on system using the ac adapter only. if you have another battery and ac adapter that you can try, better. If none, need to replace motherboard. include battery and ac adapter to be sure.
