Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

First what OS are you using? Do you have the full software installed, the basic HP driver or the OS-based driver? The first time you scan, you will need to start the scan from the computer. Put your document face down on the scanner glass or face up if you have an automatic document feeder. Launch the HP Solution Center (in Windows), and then click Scan Photo or Scan Document. If you need to adjust the settings, cancel the scan and click Settings. Then click Scan Settings.

If you have the full software installed, you can set up the software to "listen" for the button presses and launch the software to scan. Use the first scan to give you your defaults to enter into the Button settings. In the HP Solution Center, click Settings and then Scan Settings. Then click Button Settings and then the Front Panel Buttons tab.

If you have the OS-based driver installed or the basic HP driver, with Windows 7, you can use Windows Fax and Scan.

The manuals for the HP Deskjet F2480 are available from HP here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3811337& . The direct link to the User's Manual for the Windows OS is http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01855375.pdf .Additional Scan instructions are here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?tmp_rule=49242&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3811337, pick the link for your OS.

I hope this helps.
